Many nations, including the US, are guilty of horrible experiments and atrocities.

I don't know, and likely never will know, the source of this disease. It happens.

Got the word today that Long Island Schools will be closed for the next 2 weeks.
Sucks, because my wife has to stay out of work to watch the boys. It is what it is...

Going back to one of my original points about preppers. We are not preppers. Though I've asked my wife in the past to start keeping more non-perishable food on hand, that really hasn't happened.

When she went to the grocery store early Saturday morning, most of the shelves were bare. Friday they had been ransacked, and the stores did not have time to replenish them. My daughter and I went to another store later in the day that had the same issue that morning. Their shelves had been fully restocked, and we were able to get the meats I wanted to cover the next two weeks.

This made me stop and think about the fact that most grocery stores operate on a 3-day inventory. That being the case, we saw the shelves wiped out from our largest grocery local grocery chain on the day that our governor announced school closing. There goes the 3-day inventory. Well, at least there goes the store's ability to keep the shelves stocked with they have on hand or their 3-day inventory.

In the end, it brought me back to thinking about having longer stores of food on hand at home. My cousin just bought a 1/4 cow that he's storing in a deep freezer. With the passing of my dad, we have the room in his garage to put a deep freezer to do the same. Then would be the canning and building up other dry goods.

Does anyone think this will get worse or when it will end? If you don't know then starting some plants indoors now or soon is a really good idea!

Will the ready to eat produce be in stock? Will it be clean with a bunch of people coughing all over it? Who knows....

Start a garden, dedicate a couple things from your harvest to collect & dry the seeds.

What we're seeing happening in the stores is quite possibly only the beginning. There are many in our world that cannot live self sustaining lives anymore. Got room for a few chickens? During the warmer months they can sustain themselves while laying eggs for you. During the winter, not much feed is required to keep a small flock fed, and your still getting eggs.

Building a small area for them can be done cheap in a pinch. Your local farm stores should have chicks ready to pickup right now.

These are just things to think about.

since your fact checker is broke...

"Every election year has a disease" ... SARS in 2004; avian flu in 2008; swine flu in 2010; MERS in 2012; Ebola in 2014 and 2018; Zika in 2016 and the coronavirus in 2020.

But most of these diseases were discovered and spread before the election years. Some of the diseases never impacted the United States, and never came up as a large point in a campaign. There is some evidence that Ebola in 2014 impacted the election, but otherwise there is no straightforward connection between national U.S. elections and pandemics.

The post is not accurate. We rate this statement False.

I wouldn't say I'm a pepper but I'm more prepared than the average person. My chest freezer has at least 25 to 30 pounds of protein in it all vacuum sealed. Frozen veggies and snacks too. We always have extra canned goods/non perishables on hand and most importantly plenty of ammo. I'm not a bad person but if things ever do really go south at epic proportions I'm ready to do what has to be done. I saw a few Bernie and Hillary signs out last election in my area. Easy shopping there. Gun free zones guaranteed.

Well, tonight WA governor announced a ban on all gatherings over 50, all gatherings under 50 that don't meet certain criteria, bars, restaurants, etc.

I'll see you guys on the other side.

Oddly enough that's why I moved over here. My post was slightly distasteful though. So I get trying to keep the peace. No biggie
