Filled the NC30 today with Uglies and elbows and knots today. I took advantage of the nice weather today to clean up the piles and organize a bit. In the process of cleaning I set aside a bunch of uglies and knots and tossed them in the stove tonight. They dont organize well and now I see why most people dont like them but alas my wife and I are watching the Golden Globes in a warm room. Errr, she is watching the Golden Globes, Im watching youtube of tree felling and firewood splitting. I glance from time to time when a hot babe is on. lol. We are about halfway there boys and gals, stay safe and warm.
Now imagine getting enough uglies in a 1.4 cuft stove to get a 10 hr burn. It ain't easy. That's why I burn most on warmer nights or days I'm going to be home.
Yep, burning uglies, knots, and elbows in a big firebox is a LOT easier than in a small box. Just not the best for overnight burns.
