What did BK have to say about the cat failure? How much is a new cat?

Over the phone with BK they said "sounds like you need a new one, contact your dealer for the fullfillment."

How many years are on the cat? I'm on season 5, mine has cracks but it's still whole. I've vacuumed it a bunch and had it out twice, no issues so far.

The 10 year warranty is a smart move on their part, it's only for the original so they only have to eat cost on one cat. I'd imagine they get a pretty good deal with the amount they buy.

So if your cat dies the first year your warranty is done? Do they offer a parts warranty on the replacement?

No, but it's extremely rare for them to die. I have heard of Vermont Castings owners going 15 years on a cat....

The 10 year free replacement is done. After that it's the cat manufacture warranty.
