I have a dell E6420 ATX that has served well. I have installed 1tb ssd in the main and a second in the accessory slot. It is a fast computer and Id like to keep it however its developed a VERY annoying ground issue. Im no computer slouch but I'm also not a computer tech and this one has me a little baffled. When you plug it in and are still using it the mouse goes crazy but as soon as I touch the metal backing it starts to work normal. This is why I suspect a ground issue. Has anybody else had this issue with a laptop and what causes it? I am wondering if the charger or battery or both are smoked or maybe the grounds inside are bad. Who knows Id hate to replace it its one tough fast laptop with is perfect for the shop and road. Thanks all
I did. While we lived in the 5th wheel during constuction kiddo knocked over my glass from 3' away and ONE drop landed on my keyboard. Though my keyboard showed all keys popped up the F key was glued down. Also on my desktop I was getting crazy screens coming up. I had switched to a $3.98 wired keyboard instead of my wireless keyboard that was losing battery. I set it down below my desk..... Turns out it was the dogs lounging down there inadvertantly leaning on some keys.
No only when the charger is hooked in. Thats why I'm hoping that's all it is poem is $65 so I figured id better ask before I ordered it and found out it was something else.
