15" red maple i cut up tonight. Next door to my friends where i have a wood stored. Ran the 170 including felling the spar. Full tank came three cuts shy of bucking the whole thing. Just missed his gazebo. Id normally stop around 6" wood with the 170 but it was zipping through it no problem so i kept going. Starting to like this little saw more and more. Finished the last three cuts with the 261 and i seemed heavy compared.
Been nibbling away at the behemoth oak in his front yard. (Same yard as prior post of red maple) Took his lines down but he didnt lose power. 36" DBH. Cut back mostly to wood line. I cut wood, he throws brush into woods. Gonna take some careful work to get rest of trunk as its broken off maybe 8' up. Havent updated pics. Its cut back to woods edge.
Split some of the maple yesterday and some oak today. Pulled some oak out. Big tree as of today. Big saws in the shop yet. Splitting on site then moving. Split all rounds from roadside limb and removed. You can see all the bucked rounds from the bigger tree in front of the PU.
Paying job i did few days after Isaias. Catalpa top snapped off and hit a chain link fence. I cut it up and felled spar too. Brush went into the back woods and didnt have to haul away. They were nice enough to let me leave there and even split on site. Split most of it and hauled out to stack. One hollow round with a knot hole for a big Swedish torch next Summer. Over half cord. Set three pallets and stacked. Stack almost done is the primo splits. The mound to the left same load goes to a different stack. I hate being OCD! Wood on right is sugar maple mostly needing to be noodled.
