Ok, I have a bid in on a saw now. Really would like to find a 62cc victim but so far nothing for under $100. Does the victim have to be new in the box?

No. Don't think it needs to be new. And there will have to be 2 clasess. We can't run a 40 cc against a 60 cc .

    I'm thinking 45cc- 55cc and then 55cc - 65cc?

What type of saw you looking at?

I'm trying to get me an auto tune before the GTG. Preferably a Stihl, somewhere in the 70cc category! ?!

    It's a 52cc/20" but it's orange. :D

And why the hurry on an mtronic/AutoTune? Why not wait until the G2G and run mine? Although they may not be stock by then....

So you have some competition :)

By "Orange" do you mean a Husq/Poulan (like the 235/240 series?)

There are 3 distinct saws out there at the moment, 45cc, 52cc, and the 62cc. So a 40/50/60cc class break makes a lot of sense. Chain will make a lot of difference here too. Be interesting to run the saws with stock and modded chain.

I think it's the same as your BlueMax, just orange.

Skip ain't gonna help in this category anyways.:D

I have a feeling we will be able to swap a common Bar/chain for an apples to apples comparison.

That sounds good.. I like the equal playing field. Once we establish which is the fastest, then it goes to the chains :)

opened up the muffler and adjusted carb, runs really good. think it is making more power. sharpened the chain and reworked the rakers, cut really good but I might of got to aggressive. going to port and polish it next. then see if the chain works better.

The victim arrived late last night! FedEx delivered it at 10pm, which I thought was a bit odd but whatever......

I even cut a little wood with it today. I was really surprised how well it ran out of the box. The chain immediately went on the grinder as I could tell it was going to cut circles. We had a few teething pains but now she has quite an appetite!

She's 52cc with supposedly a 20" bar on it, but it measures out to be 18" from the spike.

I thought about buying one of those about a yr ago. But folks "somewhere else" ;) on the web talked me out of it. Said it was like buying a grenade!

For the record it was made clear that this was not going to be my main saw or a serious use saw. More of a thing to see how long it would last for the cash. Kind of a CAD curiosity thing.

    Husky copy.

They all seem to have the same On/off switch, choke lever, and throttle lock? Mine appears the same, as does ironponys (his on/off is a different switch, but same place, different hardware).

I think that they are all the same "Make", just sold under different colors.

Can you snap some close ups ofthe back of the saw (choke, on/off, etc)? And also the muffler?
