Are farm taxes lower? If you grow your own food, make and repair your own equipment and the 1 horsepower engine on your horse drawn carriage eats grass on the side of the road without paying a road tax, I imagine taxes don’t have quite as much of an impact...
Common ground fair used to be in Litchfield Me at the fairground. It grew to large and moved to Windsor Fair Ground. They got large wand wanted their own place so they move to Unity. Very appropriate there. Unity College is there. That college is well aligned with the "Mother Earth" movement that is displayed at the Common Ground Fair. Also in Unity is Johnny Seed. They test and sell as well as propagate new seeds suited to the northern areas. Not far from there is a Mom and Pop restaurant called BIG G's Each slice of bread is about a foot across and and inch thick. Most folks buy 1/2 sandwich and take half of that home. Ck out the menu. You will love the names. Lunch & Dinner | Big-g-s-deli.com
Yes sir, on my Dad's side, the 11th generation. Settled here when the land still belonged to the King of England. Started out in the Mt.Vernon area. I am just few miles away from Mt. Vernon.
No, it really is the truth! My cousin is a genealogist. He has traced the male line back to the 14 hundreds in England. Lucky for him, he went to England to continue on his research. That was just before his stroke that has left him isolated and confined to a nursing home severely impaired.
Oh please don’t misunderstand me I absolutely believe you I just think it’s wonderful you can trace your family back that far! I often wish I knew more about my genealogy.
Now a days it is not hard to get hooked on genealogy research. My Mom and I have been doing it for years and so does wildwest. Most of our research is done online now because of the vast resources that are available. PM me if you want to look into it.
