20250827_114818.jpg Well, my old echo CS310 found its way back home from my nephew. I bought this new several years ago. Probably 15+. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. 20250827_114812.jpg

It's official....im porting it. Lol. Easy to work on like my CS400. Less than 20 minutes to get the saw apart and engine out. More updates later. Maybe tomorrow because it might rain.

When I bought it new I did a muffler mod. Basically hogged out the cat, which resided in the area marked in red, and I modified the deflector. Today I split the can and removed that heavy, restrictive contraption, made new spacers so the bolts can't crush the can, wire wheeled and painted. 20250828_124743.jpg 20250828_124745.jpg 20250828_124748.jpg 20250828_124810.jpg 20250828_124814.jpg 20250828_130253.jpg 20250828_130307.jpg 20250828_130312.jpg 20250828_130327.jpg

I remembered to look just now. That saw is a 2013 model so 12 years ago I purchased it.

There is a story behind the scars on the saw. Several years ago I had sat it in my tractor bucket, in the garage, and forgot it was in there. A few weeks later I fired up the tractor and, when I raised the loader the saw slid out unbeknownst to me. I proceeded to attempt to pull out of the back door and the tractor acted like there was something holding it back. To my horror, lol, my little echo was being used as a wheel chock by a front tire and had been ground across the concrete a few feet. It didn't get completely ran over put partially so. If it had been in 4 wheel drive it may have turned out a bit different. Despite this mishap, damage was minimal and all cosmetic except the safety lever in the top of the handle which was broken. There were also two small cracks. One in the clutch cover and one in the rear handle. They don'teffect operation or safety so there they still are. I tried sanding out the worst of the scratches and made it look worse with the big dull patches. Live n learn I guess.

I've done a fair amount of cosmetic work on dirt bike plastic in the past. Start wet sanding with a rougher (maybe 220 grit) paper, then work your way down to 320, 400, 600, 800. It's work but it's doable if you're motivated enough. I used this stuff for the final finish:PC Racing Plastic Renew | 10% ($2.30) Off! - RevZilla
