Just got in from a chilly walk in the woods. Wow. When we get back into the open the wind was stronger than I thought and a bit chilly too. Looks like we'll be down in the teens again tonight. Oh when will it end?...

I'm right there with ya Dennis. Mid 30's for highs this week with a rain snow mix YUCK! Still burning quality wood to keep the temps up with all the wind. I'm tired of it too. Oh well. Ash & Elm in the cooker.

Two pretty days in a row. Sun went down today, the temperature dropped ten degrees in no time. Snowflakes are showing.
    High of 50 tomorrow.
I hunkered down to watch the women's NCAA championship game. Notre Dame pulled off another last second three point shot, as they did to knock out UConn to get there. South Bend is happy, and down here the Indiana U Women won the NIT yesterday.

Every time the weather gets nasty like this, and i have loaded the boiler for its overnight, I look outside, have another sip of Woodford, and bwahaaa ha ha! like an evil scientist. Take that, REMC

Bright moon once again. Felt like -9 yesterday morning, feels like 5 this morning. Temps are 13 now and yesterday morning were 7.

Never warmed up above 30 yesterday, but the radiant melted snow. Today, more snow on the way.

A chilly 20F this morning. Maple in the boiler. I’ll bring in some more firewood today sometime.

    Another brisk morning. Sitting at -20 C feels -25 C, or -4 F feels -13 F.

We wound up with almost 6” north of you. And it’s still snowing with 39° temp.

12-18" snow forecast just a bit north of us. Hoping it stays up there. How about papadave? We haven't heard much from him lately. Maybe he's already buried in snow?

Really nice day here after a cold start. 18 degrees when I went out this morning but warmed up to 40 later. Mostly sunny but is clouding over now. Storm moving in.

Barring an ambience fire, I'm done for the season. Time to let the thermal mass do its thing for a while. I had 66 in the living room earlier in the weekend, but with the warmer temperatures pulling less heat out of the house, I'm up to 70 last time I checked. With April's ups and downs the mass should keep me just around 70 until May whatever the diurnal variation is. Then it is watching the weather and strategic opening up the place at night to cool things down until sometime in June. Then it is A/C for the summer and reverse the process in early September- opening at night when I can to lose heat, generally closed for October, closed for November, and we're back to fire season.
