Its a mild -2c here today, much warmer than some and colder than others. There is still 3 feet of snow outside with colder air coming. Larch in the stove. Im milder than saskwoodburner and Im ok with that!
Well, we have -11 C feels -19 C right now, going down to -22 C feels -30 C. Worst case scenario, another 4 weeks of cold... But on the brighter side of things, I got a double wall stove pipe damper 7-10 days ago, and it works like a charm.
Actually today was a nice day. In most cases , these temps are only cold If someone wants it warmer. I'm totally happy with these temps in March. Its in the low/mid 20s above right now. I kinda hope it doesn't get much colder tonight because I didn't plug in any vehicles for morning. Small poplar fire in the stove. We still have around 3 ft of snow but it settles most afternoons now.
46 -rain The 3' of snow we got a couple weeks ago is almost gone. All the iron is cold ,,, 'pane burning.
32F going up to 57 today. I think I am shut down for the year, switching to propane to get the chill out in the morning.
I see some heavy snow predicted for the UP of MI. How about your area yooperdave? Raining a little here but just light rain. Chilly but not cold. Stove throwing heat.
Hi Dennis. Yeah, up to 10" of the heavy wet heart attack snow starting tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day I have to drive 1/2 way across the U.P. but I think it'll be alright until the afternoon-after Good Friday services. We'll get some overnight, don't know how much but probably not enough to make a difference. Fri eve and Sat we are supposed to get hit. Storm watch already posted (this morning) but haven't checked if it is a warning yet or not. Good thing is, this time of year, it won't last long!
Ok, so the cheap prick in me decided to light a fire when I got home and it was about 63 in the house because my wife had the doors open and it was 55F outside.
First documentation of static Temps at home. I’m headed to the lady’s house for fire, ribs and adult beverages.
-12°F / -24.4 C. A bit of polar vortex from Nunavit escaped and the house in creaking a bit. It was thawing a few days ago. Burning blowndown Elm which unfortunately is not DED. I've got a lot of DED Elm, but the snow's a bit deep to get to it without burning more diesel than the Elm is worth at this time of year. 200 miles south of saskwoodburner.
About the same as OldJack, -25 C feels -29 C, or -13 F feels -20 F. Someone must have left the door open on that polar vortex thing! This should be the coldest night (hopefully) we see for the next few weeks. Poplar chugging along in the stove.
