It was 9F by the time I looked at the thermometer this morning. Maple and a few pieces of Pine in the boiler. Suppose to go up to 32 today. Let’s hope so. Sun is out and it’s the start of spring today. ?

Temp sitting at -5 C or 24 F at the moment, and might get above freezing for the high today. Poplar as always.
Chilly first day of spring for sure but fortunately the snow is supposed to miss us. Down to 22 overnight and supposed to get to 38 today. I have an appointment to get snow tires off the car this afternoon. No more snow wanted here.
It may miss you but it looks like it will land here just fine- current prediction is 5" to 8" tomorrow (Wed.). March is hanging on with all its claws.... Brian
Thanks Dennis! And now that you are being so generous, I noticed that the forecast has been changed from 5" to 8" to 8" to 12". Tomorrow night, I should be enjoying my butt off! Brian
I got the snow tires off the car today. Then people start telling me about another snow storm this weekend. But most said 3-5" for us. So, looking when I got home, NOAA is still not predicting anything for us. Went to accuweather and they also say the snow should go well to our south. Hooray!
Ive been burning in the evenings the last week or two with silver maple, it hasnt really been that cold though.. temps dropped fast today and the winds wipin as this new noreaster is moving in. Im quickly watching ice pellets stick and stack in my yard.. just fired her up with two wild red oak uglies as a base and a big maple stump crazy ugly as a top. That’ll get a great coal bed for around 9pm when i stuff her with the sub par maple for this storm for kvernight... but its what I have in the house. Its spring, Im south of the mason dixon line... Feb I rarely turned the stove on, we even walked in shorts... 1/2 way thru March and huge winter storm.. next week 100* and scorchin humidity i bet lol
Here comes anudder noeasta' to NJ! Upper 30s now. Burning dead elm that was standing just 2 weeks ago. Burning nicely. Very hot.
Made it to 37F here today, but 20mph North wind is not helping. Sunshine all day though. Warmest windchill reading I saw was 28. Ash & Maple cooking. Can't wait for 50's to get more time in the woods.
We have been having a nice slow melt of at least a little bit everyday for some time now. As long as the sun is out, the snow will go. And the slower, the better. No one needs to deal with spring flooding, wet basements, wet yards.
Haven't been around much lately went back to work temporarily. Still burning through the wood here It was 9* here yesterday morning and 10* today. I am ready for warmer temperatures. I have been loading up the OWB with Red Oak, Hard Maple, Ash and Cherry. I've gone through about 8 cord so far this year.
