Weekend in wales tomorrow if we make it, 12 of us in a beachfront house . Specially selected for a spot a fishing . Did I mention it has a log burner
Elm was pretty well wiped out here, too, with a few notable exceptions. I've worked with the fellow who owns the house this one sits in front of. I've made it very clear that if it ever comes down, he should be on the phone with me immediately! iBerkshires.com - Home & Garden
Should read 20 mph. I fat thumbed the 1 in there and didn't proof read . My bad. -6°F atm. Winds calm. Huge moon out . poplar in the stove.
Getting back down into the 40's tonight so I've got some oak and a little honey locust cooking as we speak. This is the first fire I've had in nearly 2 weeks. While December and January were very cold by southern standards, February was very warm.
We're looking at -15 C feels -18 C ( -23 C & -27 C feels later) right now, or about 4 F feels 0 F. Super dry poplar feeding the machine. I'm bout ready for spring.
About 23F here this morning. Maple and Pine in the boiler. We were lucky here with just a dusting of snow. Windy.
Looking at -17 C feels -25 C, or 2 F feels -14 F. Mish mash of small cherry/poplar/siberian elm in the stove.
Its been 3 weeks since the stoves been on! Lil bit of everything tonight n tomorrow night as it'll be in the thirties. I just lit it, and with these winds its burning up really fast, its very noticeable!!
Got a nasty new England mix of snow and rain today, maybe 6" all told. Low 30s for the next few days say the weather guessers. Red maple, walnut, and pine keeping the water hot.
About 27 here tonight with a cold breeze. Loaded the Wood Gun with straight, large Maple on top of Pine coals for the overnight.
Mild temps yet here. Feels like 20's...maybe upper teens. Moon is out once again, but has to deal with some light clouds tonight. Snow coming on Mon, Tue, Wed.
24F here. Just put a half load of large Pine splits in the boiler on top of the Maple coals from last night.
Enjoying -8 C feels -17 C, or 18 F feels 2 F. The winds are gusting up to 30 mph though, and I think some snow rolling in during the day. Poplar in the stove.
Didn't load the stove heavy before I left this morning. Still should have been enough to get me through the day though. Came home to both doors wide open because my wife was distracted by the dogs, so the house was cool. Still windy so the draft has been strong, and the stove was down to coals. Punky Maple coming to life.
