    It's 42° out, got up to like 52° today. Tomorrow even a little warmer.

    Burning nothing tonight, or tomorrow. Wednesday I'll fire it back up.
    The furnace has turned on twice today. I'm fine with that.

    +17 last I looked. Got the stove corked down . Its just puttering along. With 2 of what Sask calls wooden nuclear fuel rods. =bone dry , standing , bark falling off, poplar.
    They burn so hot that a guy has to keep an eye on the stove . And corked off they turn into pretty amazing coals logs.

    Up from a couch nap and touch up the fire with a few sticks of the above mentioned fuel rods. -16 c or 3 f at the moment.

    A Siberian blast of chill air is lapping over the UK. Temps are cold, but compared to North America it's spring like :whistle:
    Burning plum and cherry. Good 'n hot!

    40°F, partly cloudy, headed for 64° they claim. A wonderful concoction this morning of ground sausage, sauteed mushrooms, eggs and cheese for breakfast.

    A good friend went out of town on business and left his wife at home boiling sap and not much firewood for the evaporator, gonna go down to his place first thing and cut a load for him. Trying to keep his butt out of the fire!!! I hope she is gone when I unload at the cabin, she can be a mean ole gal and I doubt she's in too good of a mood.

    Elm and locust in the stove to knock the chill back first thing.

    I'm thinking we must still be on the edge of some kind of system, as the weather guessers can't seem to predict the temps within a matter of hours. -23 C feels -30 C, or -9 F feels -23 F. Poplar same as always.

    Grass cutting time?! Last year that happened around here the last week of April but some did not start until early May. It might happen earlier this year but I would not expect it before mid-April.
