Really is a great wood. I’m unsure of its growth in BC or Vancouver island but knowing that it grows more towards the saltwater, if you’re able to next time. When I burn it, its incredible. Small splits not much bigger than a garlic bread roll cut in half. Goes a long way.....

Not at all. It is in the now teens now so that doesn't add up to much.

Sitting at -13 C feels -18 C, or 10 F feels 0 F. While I wouldn't mind if it stayed a bit warmer at night, at least we're stuck in normal weather now. I even unbuttoned the kitchen window so we can get some fresh air rolling in when required.:)

I am surprised that our power did not go out. Power outages seem the norm any more around here. Never used to be that way but it seems today they would rather spend big dollars fixing lines after storms rather than trimming before the damage is done. Sad.

Temperature in mid-40's and a beautiful sunny day here. A fire still in stove. Wife is washing clothes today. I was in the woods. Cut a tree and also skidded some logs. Didn't even think to take the camera.

Waaaay above normal here. 55 today, warmer still tommorow. Yesterday was warm too, but windy. Stove is cold... house plenty warm just from the sunshine through the windows. Might burn a little later tonight.

Same here, after about 2 pm it turned into a very decent cleared up day. Blue sky and in upper 40’s and 50’s depending on where you stand.

Heading down to 19°F overnight. Loaded the oakleaf with birch. Won't reload in the morning since we'll see mid 40's tomorrow.

Loaded the wood stove for a small fire for the first time in a week and a half at least. It has been spring down here!! This is the earliest I have stopped burning regular any year since I started like 6 years ago..maybe 7 or 8 I don't remember. But the house was hovering around 70f and we have been chilly. Started a fire to take the chill off and the damp out of the air.

I havent been around much.. Its about grass cutting time it seems. I havent had a fire in over two weeks.. Crazy feb.. Very warm. We hit just shy of 80 a few times last week. Even this week high 50' during the day and 40's at night... Im just letting the heat pumps run because fires get the house almost too warm for comfort..

On another note, some critter decided to eat the wires on my tundra. Its not a daily driver and sat still for two weeks.. $5k in damage!! In my research after the fact, Toyota and Honda dont insulate their wires in plastic... They use a soy based product, so them critters just keep eating because its tasty!! Thank god for insurance!!

    No sun here today. Mid-forties.
With no solar gain had to have some heat by mid-afternoon.
Two loads of pine since 2PM and then tossed a few splits of oak on an hour ago hoping it will still be not too cold in the AM. Supposed to go down to thirty-two according to the weather guesser(s).
Might have three days of nice in a row.
