It was 84 degrees today, no burning yet but suppose to get down to 38 sat might so I might start one Sunday. Got 1.3 cords of silver maple for SS this year and around 2.3 cords of sugar maple and .6 cords of locust for the cold days. Everything measuring around 15% MC! :fire:

It hasn't started yet. Still seeing temps around 70 during the day. Looking at the extended forecast the wood burning might have a chance to start in two weeks. Seems to me I have had fires in September before, but not this year, it will be closer to November.

46º here and supposed to be 34º tonight, just getting ready to blow another 11 or 12" of cellulose in the attic. We'll see about a fire for tonight maybe but probably will just burn a little gas in the boiler.

44 deg as of now, still warm in the house. If a little heat is needed tonight/morning I will kick the oil furnace on for its first and last test cycle for the year.
Will be the second year in a row for that procedure since putting in the new small stove upstairs for last winter. :D

43 right now with a low of 39. the high tomorrow is supposed to be 60. the house probably won't go below 70 tonight on its own, so no burning. i've started 2 fires over the last couple weeks just because. i used uglies from my chestnut oak stack, and some sweet gum.

Pine slab in the BKK. 1/2 a load has been going good for 24hrs. Nice to throw in a dozen chunks one night, and another dozen the next.

Temps cool today with lots of wind and rain, in the 40's tonight. Started off burning some rounds of the Great American Firewood Tree scrounged from my woods this summer (cut with a bow saw - no chainsaw at the time), followed with some elm, and red spruce tonight. Really enjoying how the Progress Hybrid can cruise along at 350 to 400 and keep the main part of the house at 70 degrees. Man, I feel like I'm living in paradise compared to listening to the blower on the Harman insert all heating season long. Do I deserve to be this happy?

Loaded the stove up for an overnight. 1/2 hour to midnight, temp 43F outside and dropping to the mid to upper30's with a bit of leftover wind. House got down to 63F so, will be warm inside tonight,:) This is only our second fire of the season.

38º on the back porch this morning. I need to bring some wood in from under the porch. But now I have a problem with the well. :(

I think Dave needs a new thermostat! I was right by his place that day getting some hydraulic lines at Jachivich and there was NO possible way it was -25*! Maybe 50* warmer and 25*!
