Pine fire in the morning, pine fire in the evening. Been the drill for a while now. Sometimes a load of oak after as the sun hasn't been out much. It's snowing right now so I threw a little oak on. We haven't had any of this freaky warm weather down this way. High for the week was 55ºF. SW winds will bring cool off Buzzards Bay. North of me will tend towards westerlies and can be nice and warm land mass heated air.
Just checked the extended forecast on Weather channel and the next 7 days will be in the 30's here. Perhaps a burger cookout at the garage is in order?
+6°F here atm. Poplar in the stove. Got about 3" today hadn't plowed the driveway in quite a while . Better part of a month iirc . So I plowed when I got home from work. Then went up on the roof and brushed the chimney. First time this winter !! If I was burning spruce very much I would have needed to about every month and a half.
-22c/-7f right now but it was warmer this afternoon. Larch in the stove so toasty house... Listening to high voltage by AC/DC. Had a rough day so chillin with some old style metal.
Tell Dawn great pics! We've been following it on channel 9 and it's been in the Union Leader. Over the years we've seen it too many times. Hopefully any damage and flooding is minimal. It was 20 here earlier, Hard Maple has been roasting for a while and she said " warm it up in here I'm gonna take a shower ". Ok, three Apple splits went on the grill. She'll be warm.
Common Fir (Picea abies) is all over the place, is the most important Fir if it comes to Lumber. Youll find more and more Douglas Fir, which in my opinion is great, as its good lumber as much as its nice firewood. But it aint a domestic species so opinion arent always the same about these sort of things.
I remember running the autobahn in an Army issued Chevy Blazer!! That big old beast didn't handle the autobahn nearly as well as my 525 BMW !
Mild temps with bunches of rain..burning soft maple the past few days and shutting the owb down completely in the mornings!
Really cold out. Burning some alder and chestnut big splits. I think it got down to about 18-20°F out last night.
Sitting at -20 C or -5 F, with a slight touch of wind. While nothing to write home about, feels not bad without wind. Has been one of the windier years that I can remember.
It's up to 34.2° F ,snow flurries and wind. Alligator juniper heating up the stove for a hardwood selection.
