You can't always rush into projects like changing out a wood stove! Take your time and think things through completely. (Then list the stove for sale in the classifieds of this site in a few more years....)
Finally a nice break in the weather, my Oak is not disappearing at any where near the rate is was a few days ago. 39°F Feels Like 32°F Sunny
Living the dream here. Okay just kidding but it's -5 C or about 22? F out right now. Some chicken on the grill and it smells like heaven. If heaven smells like chicken on the grill. Some pretty sad looking coals, but I should be ab;e to bring the stove back to life. Apparently the temp outside will warm a few degrees yet.
27* outside. We have been feeding the stove a steady diet of white ash. The warm up has begun. Hopefully we will melt this snow off, then the ground will refreeze so I can get outside and do some work.
26F here, 20 windchill. Not bad compared to a few days ago. Still got a little snow, but gonna warm up. Planning on cutting Saturday! Oak & Ash in the furnace still holding a nice 72F IAT.
oh my thats warm! Funny thing is... our coldest room is the stove room downstairs which doubles as the rec room where we have our 60 inch. In those temps we are all enjoying the coolness of the stove room during the summer months. Right now Im sweating in shorts in that same room in front of the stove. Stay cool if you can!
So its seasonally warm here. Im still running the stove through the day but its super easy at -1c/30f (current temp) to heat my 2600 sq ft house to the point of enjoying a few open windows. Im hoping to return to normal cool temps soon. We have lots of snow so todays high temp of 1c and rain gave the runoff nowhere to go but pool up in driveways and parking lots and town streets. Tonight its below freezing and the roads are slick, slick, slick. The run off cant go anywhere because of the snow blocking it in so we are stuck dealing with it. We get some melting during winter but the snow will be around for months yet with February being a big month for snowfall. Im sitting next to a panting husky, currently burning some doug fir in the PE. Edit: I put her to bed just now. I figured she would be more comfortable outside in her kennel.
It's 22 degrees outside, just loaded stove IAT is 72. If I run the stove hard, I could be as warm as leoht and open windows like Sean. Then it would remove all doubt I might be a little.
34 here we were suppose to have been 25f but I have my doubts as its 34 already. Loaded some more redoak that was Downed or dead when I cut it and not as solid, but still decent wood. Down here I have so much oak I burn it pretty much no matter what. I do try to grade the oak out for the temps though.
I have all the windows and doors open. 70F outside 85F inside at 1:30AM. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
About 22 here right now. Suppose to go to 32. I’ve let the bubbling goo take over this morning. Letting the Wood Gun cool down to replace some nozzle bricks that are needed.
47 here at the moment. Tropical heatwave coming this weekend in the 60’s. Feels pretty good actually considering those single digits we had. Y’all can have that mess! Ain’t fun fixing pipes with the stomach bug. Got a little soft maple and poplar burning now. IAT is 75.
