Sounds like you are having a heat wave WeldrDave. It may have broken zero today, but not by much. Warming to the teens with snow for tomorrow.

Just raised the bar to possible -45°F tonight with the wind. Dawn has to carry Saucy out to pee. He stood to pee for 15 seconds, and starting holding up his legs. Quick back inside!

Older cow, healthy, destined to be mostly burgers. We usually do slaughter under inspection, but this will be on-farm (not for re-sale).

-2...feels like -22 on the big lake in NH right now!

Loaded the OWB with 100% red oak for the night, I'm sure with these temps it'll be all ash/coals by morning.

My wife's poor misbegotten, paperanian does the same thing. Owls try killing her every single winter so far.

I'm attempting to burn down some coals in the quadrafire before I need to stuff it full of high btu stuff tonight for the overnight.

Burninating some long stringy elm pieces that have to go into the stove at an angle and leaving the choocher valve in a bit. Seems to be working as I got the temps up in this room a little.

I'll load the stove in a bit with beech and a little honey locust.

I threw 3 smaller splits of red oak into my stove for a quick Burn before the night reload and to help burn the coals I raked out , out. Will load all red oak tonight, probably, maybe a split or two of white if I grab it.
