27.7 this morning, another load of Cherry heating the house. It looks like Monday will be our first day in the 50's.
The Radio Shack Special hit 51 today, it's a great day out, spent most of the morning on the driveway which is all ice. I used lots of sand but on the flats I used some of the shoulder season wood ash, the sun is hitting it so things are softening up. We had planned on putting some wood in but the hill is all ice, I sanded that so with the sun hitting the hill we should be ready later this afternoon.
30° this morning on the back porch. I worked outside most of the day today as well. Very nice weather. Should be good tomorrow as well. Then a good bit of rain tomorrow night and early Tuesday morning. That should really help get rid of some more snow. There is still quite a bit lingering in the areas not hit by direct sun.
26 degrees this morning, not burning anything until I reglue part of the gasket on the bottom of the door, we'll burn the Pellet Stove if needed.
Burning propane for the rest of season. Should be able to turn the furnace off Thursday and be done heating for the rest of the season.
55! It is HOT out. I think I got acclimatized to the really cold weather. Rain this evening through tomorrow morning...an inch/ We still have a good foot of snow in the woods. Some snow still on the road, but muddy mostly.
Getting ready for a load of Cherry, .62 inches of rain for this area tonight so tomorrow morning will be a mess.
37° this morning. Yeah! Lots of water, glad it is not more than this. Ash burning in the boiler. Not much heat demand though.
34 this morning and burning off the big load of coal I put in yesterday afternoon. I don't think we are out of the woods yet as far as snow/cold weather. Another couple weeks and I think I'll start using the small stove just to take the chill off. I'll be damed if I'm gonna pay $3.28 for propane. I'm on 35% and that should get me till late fall. Will fill up if/when it comes down.
36 this morning, another load of Cherry going while having some coffee. Even with the rain we had last night it will be two weeks before I can start cutting, we need that strong sun back during the day so the rest goes.
35 degrees, going down to 28. I good Ironwood round in the PH, which will keep the house comfortable until tomorrow night.
Right around freezing on the Radio Shack Special, another load of Cherry going while we have some coffee.
We had about same smornin. Ash and a little Pine in boiler. Running 10-12 hours on half a firebox load in the boiler with these temps.
Had a slumber party at the lil womans castle and let the fire go out yesterday afternoon at the mansion. Lots of solar gain lately. 58 in the house when I came home this morning and 29 outside. Fired up with some chitwood and bark off the furnace room floor to burn off the big chuck of coal left in the furnace. That will prolly be all for today. Wood usage is really tapering off lately. I may just keep a one load program in the furnace instead of firing up the TR-18 for shoulder season.
