Just into the 40's ish range today with lots and lots of rain. Followed by rain.

Temps will drop overnight and it will snow for at least two days.

    Time to start shoveling again!

Today, I think the U.P. is a rain magnet!

It is just nothing but rain; not real heavy like you think you see guys hewing out logs for building arks, but just nothing but steady rain!

So we’re doing some experiments here. I’ve been having some slight difficulties pairing the sensors to Mama. Hopefully I can catch what’s going on wrong but more-so I’m just focused on what’s the inside of this place doing now with the stove on rather than individual rooms. One is in my daughters room now, then the home sensor is its own.

They say the RH being below 45 is dry but it feels quite good here. Much less chance for mildew to happen which was a big problem last year moving the dehumidifier around. 35 outside, stove is coaling hard, threw in a large BL and doug fir log about 2 hours ago.

This is Not what I wanted. But at least the wood lasts. 20171204_110933.jpg

That was today at about lunch time.
Shoveled out half the ashes in the stove. It needed it done. Pulled all the coals forward . Threw some poplar on and closed it down. Winds are variable mostly light with gusts to 20.

What's going on up there guys? Sitting at -20 c feels -25 (-4 f feels -11 f) so far tonight. Short cycling the stove all evening with, you guessed it, poplar.

Poplar is popular for ya! But I guess when you’re able to keep your house warm with that, who’s complaining?

Pine and beech tonight. Temps dropping big time. It was a record 63° today, so no fire all day, until 7pm

Wind is howling, snow is falling...sideways, but still landing, real feel just dropped to below zero.

It is low to mid 20's now but that is dropping .

The extended (7-day) shows snow every day!

    Mid 40's and windy-ish.
Rain rolled thru last nite and looks like the 40 degree temps are nearly over, it's a downward spriral from here.
Ash was loaded in the owb last nite.
