40 here and going up to 49. Running errands this AM. So, no fire. Tonight we will toss a spark into her................ The stove wiseguy. (insert comment by Eric VW here)
Heavy frost last night, 23 this morning. It'll stay cloudy but head for low 40's today. Rain on Mon and also, Mon should be the last day above freezing for us. Finally.
Low 30's to low 50's around here. Ash and soft Maple has been heating the house. Have s/s 5 truckloads of Ash this week, the Bore Beetle is wiping them out around here.
Weather got cooler last night than forecast, so were sitting at -15 C (5 F) and blue skies at the moment. Poplar window cleaning load happening.
-1c/30f. Just loaded the stove with lodgepole pine, watching the news and then I will take the dog for a walk along the river to loosen up a stiff back.
It was a bit chilly in the house this morning. It was hot in here when we went to bed so no wood put into stove. Got down to 24 so inside was a bit too cool. But my wife was up to getting the stove going while I waited in bed for it to warm up.
Burning square wood most of today with exception of a few alder splits. Been toasty with a bit of rain and wind. PNW stuff...
It's been so warm and dry here that we are actually under burn ban right now. That has to be a first burn ban in December. However, my oak will be nice dry, less than one year drying. They were still standing and alive last year in December.
53F here today, Dang cold after a month of 80-90F. Mrs Leoht lit the fire today after 2 days of rain. Having a fire going in December is just weird down here. The past week I have struggled to get to sleep as it was to hot! Now we have a fire going. Cypress and eucalyptus in the insert. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Low 30's to low 50's today and coffee is on with Ash burning in the stove. I was mistaken yesterday morning claiming 5 loads of Ash...my old pal, Hippy Bob, pointed out we handled one truckload 2 times. We cut another load yesterday for a weeks total of 5..
6:30 AM and the temp is still going down. Chilly 28ºF outside. Stove room was down to 62 as we didn't have a fire last night. Rip roaring pine in the stove. Maple on deck. Don't want to hear the boiler run a second time today.
Hovering just below freezing this morning. We should see the sun both today and tomorrow. Then the precip starts in the form of rain on Mon, white stuff on Tue Wed accompanied by highs in the teens. Looks like the extended fall just may be over with.
29 Big hunk of ash and beech. Filled in the cracks with oak lumber cutoffs. Looks like sun all day. I'll let it go out till tonight and suck up some solar gain.
With the warmer temps that we've been having, just about the whole yard is now snow free once again! It would have been a great opportunity for the ground to freeze, but.....
