I had to ask because your day was somewhat warm and had to wonder if that gives you a longer burn especially with some slow burners like oak or hard maple but sounds like you’re working your way through with what you got! Thanks Lyle
I didn' have much coals left tonight for a relight. I cured that with about a minutes worth of torching the coals that burnt out with the stove choked all the way down. Let them heat up nice, and then still smoked out the neighborhood until it came up to temp.
Strange weather in Dakota, 50's during the day and 30's at night. I'm back to night burns and shoulder wood (box elder) after a month of burning 24/7.
This is so true! When they feel the pride in knowing that what they are doing makes a difference it triggers something inside of them, pride and the urge to do a good job.
So true. We teach them the best of us. We have to take the reigns off. He wants to cut it up and burn it, heat the house
Its Grey outside, right now its: 3° celcius/ 37,4° Fahrenheit. Started the day with some Fir, Birch and a wee bit of Ash. Its supposed to get frosty towards the weekend, still not very cold compared to some of what you guys got goin on.
33 Been burning only at night. Propane is cheap-I'm getting old. When work slows down more I'll get on the 24/7 burn train.
Stove full of Alder. Time to mention that this is just about the most I’ve filled this thing. Probably want to try a full load on a much colder day. They’re coming.
Sitting at -5 C (22 ish F) and enjoying a venison tenderloin/ leftovers pan scrambler. Poplar in the stove, same as always.
-2c with a few twigs of lodgpole pine in the stove. I dont want to over heat the house, as it is its 24c/75f in here.
Warm here. No fire last nite and bedroom window cracked. Cooler tonight. Burning a couple sticks of hedge because I can.
I hear stuff about hedge. Not stove melting stuff but... I would gather you have great coals in the AM after a night of that stuff.
