Low 30's this morning, the greedy hungry beast is burning some soft maple limbs.

Sitting a few degrees below freezing for the time being, but it feels colder (in my head anyways!) because I'm looking at snow. It should disappear in the next few days if the forecast holds true. Poplar in the reactor.

Kicked on the pellet stove for a little bit. Maybe by next weekend we'll light up the woodstove. Damp and cool today.

It was 33° in ozaukee cty this morning, and we're 3 miles from lake Michigan. The high today was nearly 60, but the am chill and area wide frost ruled out taking my motorcycle to work. I work in hartland, over 30 miles south and east from where I live. The highest temp I saw this am was 38, but was frost, pretty heavy most places, everywhere.

I have a personal rule that says if there's frost, I don't ride the motorcycle to work.

I think we'll have a fire tomorrow night.

So would a shot of espresso be the firestarter in coffee?

You know me and my coffee snobery.;)

All said and done, probably 2-3 inches give or take, but it started melting down by early afternoon. It didn't get above 0 C but enough sun and ground warmth to knock it down.

    Here's an afternoon shot.

Looks pretty, I appreciate you posting the picture. Weve had a bit of snow on the ground but none right now. Its -3c here at the moment under clear skies. I was just out in the yard and the grass was crunchy while I was picking out the wood for overnight.

With the temp of the ground still being above freezing, the snow would have melted even without the sun.

Messy type of conditions until the ground gets hard.

Snow is supposed to hit this late afternoon/evening. (I think it'll start before then, but my thoughts don't count!)

First totals prediction I've seen is for 5" to 8" form today until tomorrow.

We should hit 40 today (I doubt that too) and then the highs will only make it into the 30's.

Stihl burning tree trimmer trash, soft maple limbs/chunks, stuff that won't stack.
Be glad when it's gone, it's making a mess of my wood shed.
    40's to 50's here.

I'm not seeing that prediction Dave but hope you get it anyway. Looks like mostly a small area that will get much but we both know how that goes. Oh how they can be wrong... Only some showers predicted here. I was surprised at how warm it was out hunting this morning and it has warmed up quite a bit since dawn. Now 50 degrees.

Sitting at -2 C (28 F) this morning, and you guessed it, poplar in the stove. It's supposed to hit +3 C (38 F) later today.

Right around 50 this afternoon. Sun shining. Still no fire yet, but that is going to change soon.
