Don't mind the driving on them at all....just the idiots that think they know how to drive on them. On a road by yourself is good!
Singles are easy it the -50 to -60 for weeks on end. It’s all good ya just have to be smart about frost bite.
36 this morning ,no fire, left the 475 watt electric heater on overnight, 68 inside, going up to 75 today
Virtually the same here HD, except I made fire. Stove is out, and slowly cooling. Should be a nice day.
So I must not understand, we all have TONS of wood and burn to save money so why run the electric heater all night? Electric meter doing laps on the side of the house while the wood looks good stacked next to the burner. Get in the "up-twice-a-night" routine (of which some of us already are but for other reasons) and it's a beautiful thing!
Anyone who passes anyone on a snowy road is an idiot, those just freak me out. Driving in the snow is no means to be cocky.
It was 42 this morning and the wife hinted at having a fire but we didn't, very dry and very low humidity so if we need heat it will be the propane fireplace or the oil furnace.
There are many people on here that run their gas or oil heaters this time of year so what's the difference if I'm using electric. One small heater to heat the whole house overnight and the electric cost is not that much at all. One more reason, I went to bed early, was still a little bit too warm for a fire and didn't feel like messing with wood anyway
It is a beautiful day Dave 64 right now I'm on break from blowing leaves at the moment. Fun time, NOT
Been in the mid 40s at night. Learning how to burn my new to me BK king in a 1800 sq house without stalling the cat. Inside 85° is just the new Norm I guess.
Not necessarily cocky. It really depends upon the road and for sure the temperature. When we lived in the further north people could hardly believe how people drove up there but the roads were rarely as slippery as they are downstate; usually because of the temperature and not a wet snow. When the temperature got up around 30 or higher, then a different story. But to say it is cocky to pass on a snowy road is wrong. When you have snowy roads to drive on for 4 months of the year, occasionally you do pass but hopefully you know what you are doing.
I for one am really getting tired of this summer weather in October. I see 76 predicted today and tomorrow followed by "cooler" with only 74. This is crazy and to think we've had no freeze yet and now none predicted until into November. Crazy...
True! Some people are idiots and drive over their heads. If I get passed I'm usually passing them in the ditch further down the road. I've passed lots of people. Most not equipped to drive in the snow. The worts is when pulling the snowmobile trailer and people get stuck on a hill... I passed one dink in a dodge with a plow and no 4x4. He couldn't make it up the hill until I made tracks up it for him. I was in a lowered car(3 inches ground clearance) driving/plowing 3 feet of powder snow. Snow was coming over my hood and windshield. I had to stop every few miles to clear the radiator! I had already helped half a dozen all season tires people at that point.
