I'm afraid one man was killed and two injured firefighting along the Saskatchewan - Alberta border. RIP. Alberta fireman dies battling wildfire; 2 men injured in Saskatchewan
I never had that fire last night but the wife wanted one this morning so we had one while having coffee.
Warming over the next couple days, but today didn't get too toasty and tonight's looking 30s, so the pine fire continues. It's amazing how much better this burning thing works with even marginally dry wood. The white pine/hemlock mix I'm running now has been stacked out in the sun and wind since March if I recall correctly, and feels like each split weighs about half what it did when I put it up. Three cheers for dry(ish) wood.
Pineapple Express coming through here. The house is nice and warm surprisingly. Guess the fire this morning was perfect. Stove was not warm when I got home. Perhaps have one later.
This morning's temp. Fire in the stove has been going full time for around a week now. Burning mostly Silver Poplar but also a little White Spruce.
its 41 here this morning, the warmup is going to start today, with a high of 74, didnt do a fire last night, so its a little cool in this house this morning. I was spoiled the past few mornings with the night fires!
About 50 or so this morning, but felt cool in the house, so.......yep, had a small fire about 9:00 with 3 small-medium Spruce splits and a split of of Ash. House is still 72....a little warm. Stove is still warm.
Do you know I never turned this snow off my computer screen all year? Must be what's keeping the snow at bay around here. I do like the snow covered road but keep the single digits!!
