the winters of 2014 and 2015 sucked from what i could recall.
a lot of people went with out heat due to a propane shortage but i stayed warm through the whole ordeal.

Its 0c here now with expected lows of -7c/20f. Ive got the stove loaded to the rafters for an overnight burn of larch. This is the coldest day of the week with high pressure setting up again for a bit. Today got up to about 3c/37f with snow low on the mountains but just flakes at the house. The wife kept the fire going low all day after rebuilding it from last nights burn. First sustained burning of the year.

38 on back porch this morning. The bubbling goo is running every now and then for hot showers.:emb: Maybe a slight heat demand. I think around the middle of October I'll fire up the Wood Gun.

It dropped to 0 C ( 32 F) so there's a kindling fire to chase the chill away.

Some folks around here might turn on the air conditioners but we won't. Supposed to hit 81 this afternoon. Hopefully, the last time we'll see 80 this year.

I just came in the house and it is 80 in the kitchen, was tempted to turn on the air but I think we will be conservative with the electric meter, besides we don't want to listen do the darn things.

Sure is for this time of year. I think they're saying a high of 75 for tomorrow with some afternoon rain.

We should have some pallet forks by the end of next week, even though the 4540 isn't rated to lift 4500 pounds that is the pallet forks we'll have.

Once we have those I might start milling some pine again, it will allow us to lift the pine up higher so it saves on the back.

We just got done with a warm spell and now it is back to normal temps. for us: 59F here, going into the 40's tonight. But starting tomorrow, mid- day highs in the 70's and getting close to 80F all week. Unusually warm for this time of year.

I was just looking at the extended forecast for our area, we might not need to burn until after Oct. 10. It might go from summer to winter and just skip the shoulder season.

I had my first fire last night. Today the house is warm and a low overnight of 40°F. There’ll be no fire tonight, but now that I’ve had one, I want more. Seems like an awful tease to feel that warm comforting fire, and then not need it. Tomorrow the high is 80°F, and the only clean shirt I have to wear to work is flannel!

Got warm and muggy today......felt like somewhere around 80. Pulled the window shaker out.
I put on a hoodie last night even though the OAT was 70. Weird.
    Summer is done here.

We have 2 days of warm weather coming too, thurs and fri. Upper 70's/low 80's. Kind of like a roller coaster ride with the weather so far.
    Stovepipe cleaning next week!

I noticed today that the color has come back with a vengeance!

And I thought the leaves would've dropped while they were green.

Still mild temps and rain, next three days should be dry and cooler-barely 60.
