It's still 71 so we'll enjoy it until the rain moves in tomorrow.

Had a quickie in ours the other day, definitely not ready to shut down for the season yet. Last year I remember running the owb while tidying up the yard for our independence day party.

My father was a commercial airline pilot for Air Canada and thats how he would express time. Hes been retired now for about 7 years and still does it. Doesnt bother me none. I think once you get used to it there is no reason to change back.

Weve had some amazing heat around here which was a bit hard to take considering what weve been used to. The last little bit we were hitting 28c/82f! Wow!! The rivers are running high and we are greening up nicely. My apple tree flowers are just starting to open. I kinda thought I would be done burning for awhile but then today we had a one day cold front come in. Temps topped out at 10c/50f today and is now sitting at 6c/42f so I decided to light a pine fire.

Something strange happening outside this morning.....

There is a bright yellow object in the sky directly in the East that seems to be getting higher and higher....

Hey, wait a minute! I think its supposed to be like this all day! Hoo-ray! (The bugs will be happy too)

    Mid 40's now.

Started a small fire to take the chill off after another inch of rain fell overnight.

Doing the same here. Not supposed to crest 60 tomorrow.. load of not dry enough pine working now. Despite the self cleaning chimney on the owb, I hate burning this wet wood. Not as much as I hate spending dry hardwood on a quick warm-up, though. I have no idea how we got through the first year here burning fresh cut and split wood within days of processing.

A little cool overnight warming up to the mid 80's this afternoon...........Still a little snow up on a couple of the passes but they should be open in 3 to 5 weeks.

The snow is melting fast now with all the warm temperatures and the rivers are all at flood stage......It was a real wet winter for sure.
