26 deg, I was looking for some small stuff and found two splits of Hard Maple crotches in the center of the stack. The picture book definition of uglies with all the torn wood fibers sticking out, totally unstackable. Well, as we speak, they're throwing heat. Good to get rid of them. And at 26*, I can feel justified burning Hard Maple.
Current temp 23° going up too 57°. Gonna let the stove go cold. Definitely an outside day today, need things too dry up.
We had 26 this morning so we'll let the stove go cold (coals from last nights fire burning down) and let the sun do the job.
44ºF outside here, supposedly getting to 60ºF+ starting off a great sunny day. Already got my 10,000 steps in.
Sitting at -6 C (about 21 F) right now, with a chance of snow. Poplar and exotic pallet board wood chasing the cold away.
when I left at 6 there was a hard frost.. car said 20 something.. now 56 and my driveway feels like driving on a water bed
About the same here, but im definitely looking forward to 70 degree days, even if it only lasts a couple days. Whatever helps dry things up so i can get to projects is ok by me!
one of thing on to do list is get excavator dig drive down few feet ... fabric and stone... so it's passable in mud season... so it's one of 3 things.. 1) I am fat and got a touch of lazy... or 2 waiting on resources (namely time money and weather) or my honey do list is growing... probably a little of all the above... time to go drop chains and blower off
I have 52 on the back porch and 65 on the front at 2:22PM. A little windy but the breeze is warm enough to enjoy it. Elm and Maple in the boiler, but it hasn't run much.
60 here and only down to high 30s over night. Tomorrow we're forecast to hit 70, so the Boiler is cold, and that's fine with me. Looks like next week it will be back in action, so I'll enjoy the sun while I can.
Stayed at the cottage last night and lit off the 13 for a short fire. Took these pics from a dark room....it really is burning; the flash from the camera just offset the lighting. And the heckling you hear in the background is 99 lbs questioning just what the heck am I taking pics of a stove for???!!!!!!!!!!! Ash and maple.
No fire last night low 50. 52 at 8am, hit 75 today , nice breeze blowing in the open windows, S 17 G 24 mph, looks like no fire tonight Low 56 , high tomorrow 72
What the....?? After two days of temps in the 70's (just barely) and 60's, we are forecasted to get up to 8" tomorrow and tomorrow night! Of snow, that is. As usual, I have not yet put the shovels away!
