Raked the yard tonight and picked up a lot of junk from the wind storm a few weeks back now that almost all the snow is gone. So.....burning that stuff in the OWB along with it's normal diet.
For once, i hope its cherry! Current temp 34° which will be our low roughly tonight. Still sleeting and the wind is really picking up. Branches starting to come down, flag pole flexing. 1"- 3"snow expected tonight. Added a mid sized load in the WS of ash and birch.
That could explain why it is she who decides when the stove will be lit or not. No fire tonite ( although it is safe to do so ) 42ºF outside, still 70 in maybe a quick pine fire again in the morning because it may not be a sunny day
Current temp 33° headed up to 43° today. Loaded the woods stove with a little ash and birch this morning. Rain rain rain this week
We had 38 this morning.........more cherry in the liberty. Looking at our weather for next week, it looks like we go from winter to summer for a few days with temps in the low 70's.
One quick burn of oil at 6:30AM and the kitchen has dropped from 71ºF to 70ºF at noon. It's 43ºF outside with a prediction of 50ºF but I don't think it will get there unless the sun comes out. Stove room is 63ºF though and I'm tempted to have a quick short pine fire but if the sun comes out we'll be opening windows on the south side of the house to breathe. I think I'll play the indecisive procrastination card, it'll only cost me 50-75¢ of HHo . Maybe go cut some maple in the bog if the flooded area will allow. Most of the rivers here are at or near flood stage.
Current temp, a balmy 39° headed down to 32° tonight. Heavy rain in the forecast expected to bring flooding to many areas. Kinda wishing i didn't load the stove with as much ash and birch as i did since it won't get very cold tonight. Oh well, cracking windows will solve the problem.
It's 38 out with the basement temp at 65 so I loaded up the liberty with more cherry for the overnight burn. It's been a long day, lunch at a diner in Norwood, inspection on the truck, shopping, coffee at Tim Horton's and then we took in a lacrosse game in Massena and on the way back we hit Sergi's for some pizza.
Around 40 here and I lit a small fire this evening to warm the house for showers. I spent the whole day cutting trees and hauling the wood home now that the snow has receded. I'll post a thread soon.
