I have always heard it used in the context of---full bore; to the maximum; nothing left in reserve; balls out (like a full head of steam, nothing dirty, full speed).

And then of course, what the bouncer yells at closing time at the bar...."All get out!"

Been blowing here since 9am and just starting to slow down I heard tell of some at 87mph today and I don't doubt it I've been out in it all day just taking a few minute break now then back at it going to be a long one. By the way there's wood of all kinds everywhere!!!!!

Cold here once again. We had a short spring, I guess. Even got some snow yesterday with the wind, but it didn't last long...got blown somewhere else!
The feel out there now is at 0 with a temp of 8. Tonight will be just barely below 0!

Down to 30 here with a decent breeze supposed to die off but get colder and stay in the low 20's and some single digits for the next 4 or 5 days.

Supposed to creep down below freezing tonight and then get pretty darned cold for the next week or so.
It's 46ºF outside right now but I'm getting the woodstove baking preemptively.
Pine, cherry and maple in there right now.
Cleaned the ashes out and cleaned the light grey haze off the window. Got The Treatment™.

It was just a thermocouple. I hadnt had my 1981 furnace inspected in three years so since I was paying the $150 for a service call they checked it and gave it a clean bill of health. Anyways furnace is off again but now its by choice.

We got as high as -10c/14f today with snow fall and winds like a mo fo. Its -15c/5f and still blowing. Big warm up expected next week...... we will see. Waiting out a few doug fir coals in the stove then the usual overnight burn of larch. Sitting in shorts by the stove enjoying the heat. I was in the back yard two hours ago with the dog wearing snow boots, shorts, a parka and a toque. The wife laughed. I said you know springs right around the corner in Canada when you start wearing shorts with your parka!
