Have you had any "rusty/crusty" issues? I could always tell when a "year 'round" bike came in, rusty, crusty, corroded mess underneath...they don't hold up to winter nearly as well as cars/trucks do.
The only way I will go out in the winter is if there has been a couple good rains since the last salt was put on the roads.

There are a few spots that don't look showroom fresh but I don't ride a garage queen.

Good morning, 52 to mid 60's.
Steve temps set back to 165, been shutting the beast down in the mornings when I leave for work. The wife feeds the stove Sat thru Mon..I set her up with a mix bag of small splits.

Looks like maybe just nite fires the next 10 days
Hardly any nite temps under 30.
I'm prolly gonna burn as often as needed . Made a decision the last couple days I'm gonna have to move in with my dad to take care of him. Dont want to move the wood.

It is 40 degrees here in Idaho now , so burning White fir mainly .
We have a cold spell and more snow coming around next Thursday . I will go back to burning Red fir and Tamerack when it gets here .
I already got enough cut , split and stacked for next year . Going to have to go get so more just for the fun of it .

It will be in the mid 30's (I think) so we have some coals burning down before we load up with Sugar and Red Maple.

Current temp 35° headed down to 28° with freezing rain, sleet, and snow to start around 10pm, should make for a dicey commute in the morning. Loaded the oakleaf with the usual, will be warm tonight.

Its been mild in the Canadian Rockies lately. We got up to about 2c today and now its -1c. We had about 6 inches of wet heavy snow overnight that I wasnt impressed about shoveling today. Ive limped the house along with a bit of wood and a few open windows. A small load of lodgepole pine is in the stove right now.

%6 with fog/mist. Tossed an armload of maple and poplar in the beast last nite.
Burning enough to keep the dampness out of the air.
Stove set at 165 for hi-temp shut off.

Sitting at -4 C (25 F) and apparently some freezing drizzle is on the way. Poplar and pine feeding the reactor.

Looks like a cooling off is in store for both of us. Freezing drizzle isnt fun...

High of 74 F (24 C) here in St. Louis. Only thing I'm burning is my skin, while I'm sitting outside in the sun admiring my wood pile.

You know, it was about 5 drops on the window and that was it! Went for wood and there was a few snow flakes and then that quit. But the forecast shows a definite cooling trend...I guess mother nature is gonna take another run at us. I'm ready. *random picture of todays wood, just because*

Glad to see youre able to get out and get wood. We have to much snow to even attempt it. I see poplar but what kind of softwood is that on the right side of the picture?
