About 42 here this afternoon. Pine in boiler, and it doesn't have to run much.

Maintained a small fire in the OWB these last few days. Only on 1/2 of the box and only about halfway high lasts for a day.

We had 34 this morning so we burned the last of some so so wood. We hit 46 today and the temp is falling so I have five splits of sugar maple going, this should be good until the overnight burn.

Right where I want to be.
    "Micro people".
So, with this warmer weather, I decided to change the burn plan a little.
Busted out the manual splitter (axe, with me at the helm) to resplit some Oak and Maple, effectively burning half the wood.
Seems to be working quite well so far.
OAT is somewhere about 43 with an IAT of 73. Had one of those modified fires about 7:30 AM, and it might stay at this temp until dinner time.
Only used about 2 2/3 cords so far, with 3 months to go. If only the ice would go away, I'd deal with the mud.

Sitting at 30 right now. Just loaded some more Pine in the boiler. Might as well burn it up. Keeping house toasty while I cracked a few windows to get some fresh air in the house.

I ride the year around but this year it has been easier than usual. In winters past I had to ride in 25ºF weather to ride every week. If the roads are clear I ride and I consider this clear enough.

It's 24 out tonight with the temps dropping, since we haven't run the pellet stove for a while we'll let the wood stove go cold and burn the P.S. tonight.

I'll take the ashes out of the wood stove tomorrow so we can use that when needed.

Basement is down to 60 now. (That's where the computer is) No fire since last week. Just may have to change that this week sometime.
