Looking at -25 C feels like 31 C. Or -13 F feels like -24 F If the forecast holds out, we should be hitting a nice stretch of weather shortly.
Weve warmed right up saskwoodburner its -13c/8f and snowing heavy. I think this will be the low for the next day or so and maybe even get close to 0c! 5 inches of fresh and growing on top of the many feet already here. The warm pacific front is working its way across BC. Larch and fir in the stove.
25 when I got home at 5 by 6 it was down to 20. 71 inside and have a load of ash, maple and cherry torchin'. Stuffed peppers in the crock pot all day and some taters cookin'. Heading for 10 with windchill below zero.
Current temp 2°F headed down to - 2°F with a wind chill of - 21°F overnight. We received another 5" of snow today with another storm late weekend. Pellet stove cranking while the coal bed burns down a bit. Will reload the WS with maple, ash, and birch shortly. Stay warm!
Our snowfall prediction fizzled out big time. We were supposed to get 5-9 inches and ended up... maybe... getting 1. Ugh. However, the forecast on the overnight temp seems to be accurate. We're forecast for 18F overnight (5F real feel), and we are usually 5-8 degrees colder at the house. Oak getting ready to load into The One That Consumes for some toasty overnight combustion!
Current temp 3°F headed up to 6°F for a high. Just saw - 18°F with the winds outside. Burning ash and maple this morning.
4° this morning so I'm hitting the red oak pretty hard! Woke up to the house at 67° this morning and that's pretty low in the stove room. I'll be at doctor's appointments most of the day today so I won't be here to keep the stove cranked on the coldest day of the year! These are the days I like to blast the stove so I can walk around the house with shorts and no shirt and just look out the window and laugh!
Got as low as 13°f last night. After the wind died down was able to hold 74° IAT with the stove damped down.
I had 4 deg. here this am, after picking up 8" of snow in our hit and run nor'easter yesterday. It's funny on Boston TV how they're all storms of the century these days. Anyways burning Oak and hard Maple.
