Overnight guesscast (I stole that new term) went from 1 to 3. It's about 15 OAT, and 73 IAT. Just loaded the 30 with a bunch of Oak. Should be good until morning, although the IAT might drop to 66-68 by then. We'll see.
27 outside and 73 inside. About 2 to 3" of new white stuff. Heading down to 20 and the wind is picking up. Have oak and locust in the box. HDRock & papadave I put a new boiler in 4 years ago and there is no way I am getting up to a cold house even if I do sleep in. The extra 12" of insulation I blew in the attic sure does help things too. Good night all.
I tried to fix my furnace myself but I do not have the test equipment or knowledge for the electronics, intake blower runs, furnace won't fire up, that was the second time that happened and pizzed me off, and I just said screw it I'm going to use my wood burner, now I guess I'm getting over being pizzed off and realize I need some backup, not only that there will come a time where I will not be able to deal with firewood heat.
Back on subject. 21 out loading up, oak, Hickory and ash mix, Low: 16 °F I see the east coast is going to get slammed, better you than me hang in there fellas
Wood burning is great but being able to have your furnace on to pick up the slack for the ridiculously cold days, the sick days or just to lazy days is a good idea so good on you.
It's cooled off a little here now 95* down from 106* a few hours ago. We haven't had a real hot day yet this summer! No wood burning allowed today it's a Total fire ban day in central Victoria. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ha. The furnace running woke me up. 36ºF out, just shy of 66ºF in. Jeez the guessers changed the snow accumulation estimates from 8-12 to 10-15, 12+ and 12-18. Maybe they'll re-guess at sunup. I guess I won't be cutting much wood today.
It's cold out there this mornin. Currently 10 with a feels like -4. Large splits of Ash in boiler. This guy was checking the temperature while driving and ....... easy when you open the door there now.
25 out 70 in.....going with cherry and locust for the day burn. About 3 to 4" of snow on the ground now. Temps to drop through the day.
I haven't been doing it as lone as Backwoods Savage, but I'm pretty sure that guy in the pic is doing it wrong.
Well currently 9 and dropping.. it will be cold for next several days.. cureentry 72 inside and climbing burning soft maple and ash
Awoke to 10. The forecast of 1 was changed to 3 last night. 68 IAT, so I loaded 4 splits Oak, and we're back up to 72....ooops, 73. High of 18. Not really likin' that Dave.
