Just above 30 at 8am. Ash and Pine in the boiler. We didn't receive much at all from the storm. Thankfully. Even looks like the warmer temps and some rain took some away.

Real feel -5 3-4 inches of snow on the ground this morning. Was 48 Mon and supposedly going to be low 50s on Fri. Crazy stuff--welcome to Iowa weather
Sat by the cast iron stove last night with a couple buddies. Maple and a little mulberrry

22* and threw some mystery wood in the boiler, it was dark when I loaded it.

It's cooler in Darwin. I'm guessing only because of the rain.

Yes but they can keep the 98% humidity.

My sister lives in Darwin. They call this time of year the wet season!
They don't have summer, winter, spring and autumn (fall) they have a dry season, build up season, and the wet season.

It's cooled of here a little in the past 3 hours it's now 80* at 2am and the forecast has been revised to 100* with 22 mph winds.

At least it will help my wood stacks season.

Right where I want to be.
Hasn't budged from the 17 we had early this morning.
Had a fire about 8 am, and the house is still 72, so I'll wait a little to reload.
Forecast for 1 overnight......might need to set the t-stat on the furnace for 66 or so. Just in case I sleep in.
Really seems like the combo of the deck and some more insulation in the attic is keeping the whole house more comfy....longer.

We were -26c/-15f in the sun at 9:30 am but have since warmed up to -18c/0f. Burning lodgpole pine and doug fir. Another winter storm coming tonight saying we should get close to a foot of snow.

It hit 60° an hour ago. Now we get the start of the storm tonight that'll bring 6"-10" of the white chit.

Cleaned the ashes out of the stove, as planned downtime.
Supposed to be snowing by daybreak. The Pro guessers are still guesscasting 8-12 inches of snow accumulation.

Yea Darwinites don't know how to handle cold weather. But you guys have real cold. As for swimming unless you were in a swimming pool there may have been a different reason for them thinking that you were crazy![IMG][IMG][IMG]

Ended up with another couple inches of snow last night and temps close to zero but not quite. Got 13" out of the snowfall in about 20 hours. No biggie.

Right now, it is just barely below zero with a feel of -14. Clear sky and bright moon.

It's heading to single digits tonight (26 at the moment) so I'll load the liberty up and then set the P.S. on 78.

It looks like certain areas in the woods around the house will be all ice again. I saw both bucks today and they both still had their antlers on.

All the wall furnace needed was a b-vent elbow up in the attic so I could fire it back up. It's been off since '08.
It'll stay off unless it's absolutely needed, but now it's ready.
