Current temp 21° going down to 14° tonight. I've got the pellet and wood stove going because i want to wear shorts. The usual mix in the WS and burning Maine pellets in the Englander.
Got the hot blast loaded with some wet oak an half dry hickory house is staying a steady 78 degrees Sent from my SM-S906L using Tapatalk
Started out cold 2 above and warmed up to 20 by mid afternoon but the wind kept the real feel below zero again.
I seen 30* and sunshine with no wind today. It is supposed to be the same tomorrow, if that happens I will be splitting some wood.
Got more home time that I anticipated this week. What I thought was a one-day sniffles turned into a 5-day severe head cold, which threatened but never did get into my chest. Missed several days of work... coulda gone in but they all said don't bring in them germs. Cold should be gone just in time for the new work week. We'll have to see what I missed. Ugh. Anyway, temps this past week were in the low 30s at the highest, and we were down to 13F last night. Feeding The One That Consumes a steady regimen of mostly oak and a bit of larch. Seems to be pretty happy with that diet, and we've been nice and warm all week. Temps start rising for a week or so starting tomorrow... daytime highs in the high 40s to mid 50s. Will be switching over to the rest of the black walnut for that, although my wife doesn't like the amount of ash the walnut produces... she much prefers the oak.
I can sit and watch them for hours , this one just missed the chicken when it swooped down ( not taken at home sadly)
Up at 7 on a Sunday morning . House is quiet so just burning bits a crap iv thrown to one side. Gives nice random flames, by the way it's now ten am an I'm on my third coffee and still sprawled on hearth rug
I run a wood gasification boiler. It burns the wood, and all the gasses that would normally go up your chimney, by forcing said gases down through the red hot coal bed which ignites them. Very efficient, for wood burning.
23°f. Oak, maple and black birch in the stove last night kept the place toasty. First cup of coffee was great as I ran vinegar through the Keurig yesterday.
24 F right now, got some ash and locust going, the kids are nice and toasty so that makes me happy , put my first load in for the day . Enjoy the superbowl. Let's go Pats
33 outside 72 in burning down some locust coals, drinking coffee. Humidifier running a lot this morning so put a pot of water on to help.
I'll take your word for it , I just showed company the tiny bit of space I had and he told us which of our choices we could have. An then her indoors decided
current temp 16° headed up to 33°. Morning load of ash maple and birch. Excited for the super bowl, beer and food. Enjoy the day!
