Temps are going to upper 40's with continued rain.
Gonna' rake some coals around and feed limb wood to the beast as needed.

Daytime highs above the freezing point for the next week. If this were April. I'd say Spring, but now?.........

Too warm for a fire, too cold not to have a fire.

Agreed, Dogs were looking at me like "Really?" this morning when I was building it up.

Could stand to be a little colder. Running out of Soft Maple......

Having a controllable thermostat is nice for weather like this. Damp and 30s - just added a few pieces of pine to the huge coal bed left from last night's load of mostly ash. Getting ready to please mama with some home made pizza. I try to make the most of my day off. ;)

37 right now. Little rain on and off today. Burning up the Pine.

Didn't Farmer's Almanac say it was going to be a "bone chilling" winter?

    Not that I'm complaining. I'm not!

Had to get a fire going this AM. But not jus for heat. Pair of young ladies wrestled with a pole with their car down the street and we had no power . They're OK. Needed to make hot water for my coffee. Let it go out about nine, just getting it going again now before supper. Pine, oak and mystery wood.
Oh got up to 44 or so today, supposed to be below 32 tonight. Sunny day solar gain got the south side of the house up to almost 70 but that falls quick as the sun disappears. Hence getting the stove going gain. Stove is on the north side of the house. It works saving money.

It's 32 out and damp out so I started the overnight fire with some Sugar Maple, 1 split of Cherry and 1 split of Ash.

32º outside expected overnight, 52º tomorrow and rain moving in, 75º inside....what a stinkin' whimpy winter this has been so far. I ran the snowblower once last year and have not needed it at all this year. Maybe if I sell it and buy another chain saw, we'll get some snow.

We got up to 3c/37f today. It was amazing! What a warm up from what its been over the last month. I wore my fall jacket today, no gloves, stove barely going. Its oc now and the stove is loaded with larch but Im pretty sure Im going to make the house to warm tonight:emb:. I cant really complain about the last month though when I hear what bogydave is seeing for temps :shiver:

I noticed that Tanana Alaska dropped to -54! which from what I read was the coldest in the state.

33° and I tossed a bunch of shorts and uglies in the boiler, that should keep it fed until this afternoon.
