-28c/-18.5f right now with an extreme weather warning. Basically theyre saying stay inside unless youre bundled up :picard:I guess we all have liability in our chosen fields of work. If the weather network doesnt tell us that and someone dies because they wear a fall jacket home from the bar there could be liability. Anyways, burning down some pine coals and getting ready for the usual larch load for overnight.

It's like 45 and rainy, crappy stuff here. Ash burning when needed.

So after a few overnight lows around 10° earlier this week, we're going up to 60° today.

Didn't bother even bother reloading this morning.

20° and a load of limbs went in to the boiler. We got about 2" of snow on top of the frozen rain last night, so that should help a bit with the roads. The critters are going to have a rough time I'm thinking, the deer will have bloody legs from punching through the ice on top of the snow.

It's 48 here with the temp trending up so we let the stove go cold. Our driveway is like glass this morning so once the temp gets to 32 I'll be out sanding it in some areas and down near the road we'll use ashes.

Good morning, mid to low 60's, 25 to 35 mph winds, wet and soggy miserable-can't-do-anything kind of weather.
Tossed an armload of mystery wood in the beast last nite. Won't be surprised if it hasn't gone completely out.

Sitting at -33 C, -43 C with the wind. The weather guessers can't quite get it right, and keep pushing the warmer weather forecast back a day every morning. Poplar and pine.

We were under an extreme weather warning all of yesterday I think. Then in the evening the weather got colder, the wind kicked up, and it was travel not recommended on any highway in Sask. It was pretty ugly. I had to go throw about 10 poplar rounds on top of my wood pile covering because she looked ready for lift off!

Stove drafts like an absolute beast too! I'm considering a pipe damper for next year.

Yeah my stove has been drafting big time as well. Winds like what you're describing are definitely dangerous when its arctic out. We were lucky that our winds were only light yesterday. Its -30 this morning again but it looks like we should be warming up soon. Loaded the stove with pine and headed off to work.

We had wind gusts up into the mid 60 kmh range for a bit apparently. I could put wood in, shut door, throttle back 100 percent and in about 5 minutes just a raging fire happening.

40s and rainy here. Been cruising the owb on willow and a piece or two of maple. I am of the strong opinion that all wood has its place. Saves me from tapping the red oak and hickory stack that's on deck when temperatures get normal again. :)

Current temp 50°F headed down to 30°F overnight. Much snow has melted, i see grass now on the trails and the driveway has thawed. Still 4"- 5"of snow elsewhere. Will do a half load in the oakleaf shortly for the overnight. Temps falling tomorrow, then winter will be back. :)
