26 now, going down to 19, but that won't hit until about 7 am. Full load of Ash and some Oak. House is 70 right now.
Just on the verge of freezing here again (warmed up this evening), but it's not going to get much colder tonight. Made for some interesting driving with the rain/freezing rain and ice pellets we received. A turnpike double slid his tail trailer in the ditch coming out of town a few hours after it all started so I'm thinking someone is in trouble.
Got down to about 22 overnight and the winds never really amounted to too much. Was cold, but not inside. At the other house, id be running the stove pretty hard to keep the house warm with mid 20s, but it did the trick. This stove was loaded 13 hours ago, and their was a ton of coals for a reload. Temps holding at 24 currently with snow. Loaded some sugar maple, birch, and hard maple.
We had 23 this morning so we filled the liberty with cherry. We received another 6-8 inches of snow after I came in yesterday.
Hmmm. 36ºF. Temps going up instead of the forecast down. Was 34º a few hours ago when I brought in a couple more baskets of soft maple . 74º inside. I really do not like opening windows.
We have 26°F heading down to 22°F Loaded the oakleaf with birch, hard and sugar maple. House will stay warm all night!
18 °F last night, 28 °F now , I'm on the back end of a load of boxelder with a couple pieces of oak . No snow ,maybe some tomorrow but it won't stay , High: 44 °F Thanksgiving Day
28 with a "RealFeel" of 12. Humped a load of shorties to the new wood burning buddy up the road in the wheelbarrow so he can have an extra toasty Thanksgiving with the grandkids. Loaded the boiler in the dark and by the smell of it, got a chunk of hickory in the with the maple. That's why one of 'em felt a little heavy... Can't wait to get a full load of that stuff going!
Dancing a bit below freezing here and woke up to a light dusting of white stuff. More in the air tonight but it won't last. Burning a mix of Rock Maple and White Birch
It's 26 out tonight, the basement temp is 74, upstairs living room is 72 and the sleeper is 73. We have another load of cherry in the liberty.
Hasn't been t-shirt weather around here for some time now. Threw a load of all willow into the OWB. Can't do that! Have to mix in some real wood with it from now on!
20 degrees on the back porch this morning. Some White Pine cut-offs from the barn project and some some White Ash splits gasifying in the boiler.
25 Mishmosh of "Joie Chitwood" in the stove ! Calling for more seasonal temps the next week. Im hoping I can run the shoulder stove for another 2 weeks minimum. A month would be nice ,, before I fire the furnace in colder weather.
