About the same here. Had a fire this morning and it's been warm in here ever since. No wind makes a big difference with this house.
Well I thought I would be burning round the clock for a few days but the sun has been so bright that the house even though it was only 50º outside today, the inside climbed to 76º and the extra insulation in the attic just holds the heat in.
It was 42 this morning so we let the stove go cold, it's 55 at the moment. We'll have a fire tonight.....they say we'll be in the mid 30's.
May get some snow this coming weekend. Felt like it could have been today though. More maple in the OWB.
Not looking forward to the weekend as the weather is predicted to turn south. Well, I guess north actually! Dropping temps starting on Fri with rain and wind. Sat will be snow and wind. Sun will be cool (low 20's) and wind.
52 here in west central FLA!!!! And I will in fact be burning some of the wood (in the firepit) I cut over the summer at my adult nephew's home!! :stacke: Wood will be Red Maple or Live Oak.
Currently 44° no fire this morning. After the weekend the temps should drop with snow in the forecast.
It's was 41 this morning and we received some good rains overnight so we have a fire going in the liberty with more cherry.
We have hit low 30's a few nights but it has been unseasonably warm here so far. All going to change tonight as we expect our first snow fall, time to get the tarps out. We have been burning anything that measures less then 20% on the moisture meter, first year burning so not enough stacked to be picky.
Yesterday was such a beautiful day out. The temp was only around 55 F or so, but the sun was very strong with very little wind and sitting in the sun it was quite warm outside. I of course still had the stove going from the night before and it still had wood in it. By supper time, our old drafty house was getting cool so I loaded up the stove and restarted it. The outside temp was around 38F, but inside it was closer to 90. I had to go upstairs by 9 o'clock as it was actually uncomfortable in the living room. It would have been nice to save that heat for when we get 20 below and howling winds. By that time, the old Jotul has a tough time keeping up. Today, on the other hand, is 41 and rainy and the stove does do a good job getting rid of the dampness out of the air. Feels great on these ancient bones.
It's 41 at the moment so I start a fire with some cherry splits. Firewood Hoarders Club , who's getting hit with the storm coming from the west? I'm not seeing much for our area but I did change the hydraulic oil in the plow today.
Yeah its been warm up in the Canadian Rockies as well. Heck weve had some weather that was colder 3 weeks ago compared to now. Its 30f/-1c right currently. Ive been burning daily on and off and have been getting into a few overnight burns. I was burning some Spruce earlier this evening but Ive switched over to a 3/4 full firebox of larch. We had snow last month but not much in between. Snowing the last few days but highs have been just above freezing so much of it melts during the day.
