Sun's out again here so we don't need a fire during the day. A little chilly this morning from radiational cooling last night. Sun is already streaming thru all the southern windows warming things up. One quick burn from the oil boiler - a fire would only have the windows open by 11 AM. Waste of wood. Rain is supposed to come back by weekend but if it's not quite as cold as the last batch of rainy weather this is probably it for the wood stove this season.
Course, I've thought that at least twice already this year. :salute:

    Still nice weather for :axe:.

A little sunshine near dawn, then windy cloudy and even a little sprinkling all day. Cool temps.

I took extra steps during our remodel for passive heat using southern windows, sunny days are the norm here. WOW after an unusual few weeks of dark skies I now realize how much we depend on that!

The back of my house faces South. So most of my windows face that way. Incredible how much heat I get in the winter. Summer, well, I haved to pull the shades.

Big roof overhangs and wide soffits help with Summer solar gain as the sun is high but they don't usually build houses like that any more.

Don't be too sure. I look for a pattern change late May. We'll be missing this. Well...somewhat.

Tonight's the night! Upper 20's and snow. Just enough to collect a little. And then a little more snow Sat. morning.

Mind you, this is nothing like the snow that would hit the Rockies at this time of year........OWB is getting close to the end of it's season now!

Looks like a couple more last fires tonight and tomorrow night. Lows at freezing both nights. Rain and wind today with more wind tomorrow. Just not the same warmth with the NG furnace running! Have some perfect uglies that should fit the bill! Moving out in a month and a half so the more I burn the less I have to move!

Next 5 nights will be in the upper 20's to low 30's. Then back on track with lows in 40's. Had a hard time getting to the low 40's for highs today. Cold wind and a trace of snow now and then.

Little black flies were nowhere to be found today!!!

Woke up to 70 inside this morning thanks to a small fire overnight! Threw a couple sticks on this morning for the heck of it while drinking some:coffee:. Only headed for 51 today so it should help maintain 70ish or so inside. Have a Tiger Scout hike and clean up this morning, and going after a scronge of about a truck load of oak this afternoon! :saw:Chains are sharpened, and trigger finger is itchy!!

We seem to be setting a misery record for consecutive days of rain with 15 straight days.

Our region's extreme run - Page 19 - Mid Atlantic

Wierd thing is we haven't received all that much total...bit over 3 inches in my gauge for the stretch.
Also looking for a top ten coldest May possibly.
