Been raining on an off for 10 straight days here. Came home to a damp house in the low 60s. Time for one more fire! Glad I didn't haul wood out of the house just yet!

We're in the same boat (pun intended) red oak. We've recieved an aweful lot of rain here too. Tossed in a few oak splits since highs were in the mid to upper 40s, and the house was damp and chilly after work. Things are pleasant inside now!

Supposedly we've reached the end of all of this rain for a little while, I've been meaning to do some cutting for forever it seems. Extended forecast calls for a chance of thunderstorms almost every day for awhile but no washouts. Grass is looking like a jungle now though!

    Such dreary weather.
Hope you smiled and beamed sunshine all around you to compensate.

Been having a fire almost every day to keep the house a little warmer for my aunt who has come to visit from Arizona.
Burning some soft maple right now that was in an uncovered stack. Gotta toss it in while there are still some bigger coals to boil the rain water out of it. We're supposed to see some sun tomorrow. I think it's been ten days.
I've only a quarter cord of oak, a quarter cord of maple, not quite a quarter cord of fir and a half cord of pine left of last Winter's wood. Summer needs to come soon !!

We had some heavy rains move through between 5 - 6 a.m., it's 42 so I'll make a small fire before I head out to stack some firewood.

We had a small fire yesterday. Rain for a week straight, some heavy, some misty. It poured this morning, but the sun is making an appearance and temps are rising. Maybe yesterday was the last fire?

We had the rain and some small hail but no snow. I will take the moisture but I am glad no snow.

Another weekend at the cottage with only one fire in the 13! Just a quickie this a.m. and that was good enough.

We dropped from 42 in the morning to 38 at 2 p.m., we're at 50 at the moment.

We had a second fire at 3 p.m. and we'll have another tonight.

Same ole low 40's this morning.
Last nite around 7:30 I loaded the old mans OWB. Watched the smoke and wind direction chang from W to N to E in about an hour.
I think we are in for a cool dry summer.
Had a small kindling fire last nite just to take the chill off. May do it again this morning. It is getting old though tending 2 wood eaters.
