The house finally dropped below 65°, so I lit a small fire of what locust was left in the wood room. The dog gave me a look like, "it's about time, boss"!!!

No fire last night but we had a small fire this morning, I did manage to chip up some of the Pine branches before the rain came in.

It was 65 in the house this morning. Quick start fire of maple and hickory blocks (6-8 inch diameter), to warm up the place. I must say it is nice not maintaining a 24 hour fire.

We are heading to 39 so we'll have a nice fire with Cherry and one round of Ironwood, I think we have four rounds of Ironwood left from all the dead stuff I cut late summer.

:bug: Blasphemy!! I recommend a 1 week ban from the forum as punishment for such an atrocity. :D

It's only going down to around 50F tonight but with several days of rain/drizzle, it's starting to feel a little clammy in here. I started another fire today to take the dampness out of the air. Ash and cherry.

  Agree with you, I must. Very learned you are young Jedi.

I'm so far behind for next year's firewood supply I need to punish myself! I have a three day weekend coming up. So...... I'll negotiate with you. I will bring at least 10 face cord more of firewood, bucked up, back to my processing area before I show my face here again. With pictures included! Starting.....now!

Small oak fire tonight. Even though mid 40°F outside, mid 60s inside. We've had rain for days now, sometimes heavy, other times misty. Pushing out the dampness is a good thing.

It's funny how fast you adapt to temperatures in the house. All winter I would keep it 68-72 in the house. We have had tons of rain here but the outside temps have been back in forth from 60-low 70's. House dips down to 60-62 at night but havent had a fire in 3 weeks or so.
