Had a blast of winter show up last night and today. Currently it is 7 degrees outside and the Fireview is loaded with beetle kill pine.

 

When I woke up at 5AM it was 39,slowly falling temps ever since.Started very light freezing rain around 3PM,31 degrees.Still very light rain,its 28 now with 17 windchill.Snow up to 1" expected in a few hours,tommorow's high of 32,Saturday of 24 with Sunday morning lows of 5 to 10 above zero.I can take a foot or more of snow,below zero temps & bitter windchills - but I HATE ice!!

Was 15 degrees this morn but sun came out and beating through windows had to let the stove go out....weather is crazy....

 

In the low 30s tonight and climbing...... Burning some maple and birch and just opened a window.

 

Fired yesterday storage is good until tomorrow! Burning Douglas fir .

80% broken overcast no wind . Tow Boat leaving with a log tow tonight so must be a few more days of good weather !

30° here, their calling for a low of 15 tomorrow night. Burning a walnut ash mix.

 

Making do with pine, ash, & cherry during the evenings / early mornings but use oak or locust overnight & during the day when folks are at work.

 

We'll be bringing in more Sugar Maple for this next front comimg in, three Sugar Maple splits on the bottom with Hemlock & Pine on top.

The storm for Thanksgiving could get kicked out to the Atlantic Ocean or the European model has it coming up the east coast with some good snow totals, the update is this afternoon.

That sounds like a good mix of BTUs woodlands. I hope the snow doesn't come in any large quantities. I need to get wood out first.

20s and dropping. Just a trace of snow on the ground and wish there was more. Silver maple and its 77 inside. Cooking dinner on the stove tonight. A frittata with potatoes and cheese.

 

Sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do Pete. I'm have a frozen Pizza in the oven. This kind isn't to bad at all though. Thin crust, extra cheese! LOL

 

Goulash for dinner. 29 outside, 78 inside, Elm in the furnace. Plow's on the truck, I'm going to bed. A C

 

Heck it's warm here 35 or so and I went out with a couple friends and had margarita's and mexican food....Was wicked good...

 

38 out and 74 in. Had let the stove go cold yesterday so it's just been going for about 2 hours. Steak,baked pot.,peas,salad and ice cream. But I do like corn dogs.
