Dipped back into the 20s last night. Threw on a fire on at bed time and when I woke up. Ash/elm as I'm out of shoulder wood. I think this is my 6th "last fire"
Temps are dropping and heading for single digits tonight. Snow is backing up and taking a breath at the moment. 4-5" so far with another amount to match that on the way. The advisory has been upgraded to a warning. Winds will show up also. 30-40 mph gusts. Good thing it is real snow and not the heavy wet stuff.
Sunday ,New snow and sleet accumulation of around 3 inches. Monday high near 47. 43 now runnin on coals from last night
I've got grandma bear cruising along at 450° in the basement and the hastings runnin on 3. After being in this wind for the last few days i just can't kick the chill. Another freeze warning tonight and tomorrow night with snow mix in tomorrow's forecast
over 2 inches in last hour. 25 Oat 35 mom nw wind loaded IS with Ash.. going to bed and see if it looks better by dawn early light
Mid 30s here, burning oak for the overnight. 6" snow expected tomorrow, how much will stick is the question.
25 deg. here now, burning some hardwood pallets I cut up last year into 16" pieces. The Mrs. slept with the window open in the bedroom and the fan on, the living room was 51 deg. this AM. Us New Englanders are hardy folk.. Like you said Gas, spring is here!
Cut my grass three days ago!!, 24 degrees out this morning, still snowing at a pretty good rate, wood-burner stoked up, a toasty 75 inside, and a view outside............
Ash, ash, and more ash. 25 degrees on my way to work at 5am this morning. 74 inside the house when I left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
30 out and 73 in, just ready to load a mixed load of whatever I grab before heading off to the chiro for another round of traction. 2" of new snow on the ground.
It's 34 now with the April sun up, it will soon be time to take the seedlings out for their day in the sun. Just to bring them all back in again tonight.
8 this morning and ended up with 10" (or so) over the last day. I fired up the snow blower yesterday for the driveway and gave a little extra wide cut with it so the bare ground would melt quicker for the robins...... Yeah, it does help!
We had 19 this morning with about two inches of snow, we'll burn Cherry today and for the overnight burn we'll mix in some Ironwood. Tonight our temp should be lower than last night, 9 or 10 degrees.
I never post to this thread, but just realized we're burning more oak on April 9 than we did on Feb 9. Overcast with rain (started as snow) has kept the sun from warming us. Temp up to 44 now. Wind picking up too. And yes, I pushed the old lawnboy around last week.
Hovering around the freezing mark. Reload around lunch, only a few splits of oak. Still a steady snow, trying to accumulate........
Still loping along on some white oak and locust from this morning. 26º out and 76º in. Probably put about 3 small splits in to carry us to bed time. I wish I had a little cherry or silver maple close but most everything close is 92 octane. I'll make it somehow.
