It's 54 degrees outside, supposed to stay that all night, but it's bloody hot in the house because I stupidly had a fire simmering all day. It's so hot (90*) that I actually find it uncomfortable. I am now letting it go out but it is supposed to get colder by Sunday of highs of 27* and 19* on Monday.

We are routinely getting into the upper 50's to mid 60's during the day. My wood burning days are numbered for this season.:( maybe another 4-6 weeks of evening fires. Then the long wait thru summer to start again. I hate summer!

Been having nightly fires here, or every other night at least. Next 2 days are only going to be in upper 30s for highs, so I'll load before heading to work tomorrow, been a couple weeks since I've had to do that. Burning through some 3 year dead standing white elm. Its working great for the overnights!

56 with rain. Just re-lit the boiler with a Pine fire for some quick heat, mostly for showers. The fires were getting further apart. But they looks like there will be a steady, constant burn Saturday through Tuesday.

The snow is starting t stick to the ground now. Had a couple burps in the power so I re-kindled the kicker stove just in case.
Sitting at 29 now and will be another day of slowly falling temps.

Yesterdays morning start made heat for 24 hours. That's what I really like about coal in milder temps. Just sits in there glowing until the stat calls for heat. Residual heat off the furnace heats the lower levels of the house without the blower running and if temp drops,, stat kicks things up a notch.
Looks like normal temps for this time of year for the next 10 days. A wood room refill may be in order this weekend.
Will let it go out today.

Didn't get any more snow overnight, but at about 5:30 this morning, it came down with a vengeance. Covered everything completely, including the side roads, with a neat layer of 2 1/2". Then it quit altogether.
    Holding at 29 now.

Heading to 45 F tonight, probably won't have a fire in the stove?
House has been hovering around 70-72 lately, even with a low of 32 the other morning....
Definitely Saturday tho- looking to get into the upper 20's at night, and again on Sunday night, so might have to burn a few night time fires to recharge the thermal mass!

We'll be playing with the stove this weekend on and off only a high of 37 predicted for tomorrow. Lows just below or at freezing for the next 7 nights, with a wide range for highs. Getting good practice at cold start top down fires!!

Started out the day with heavy fog followed by rain then a brief snow shower followed up by cloudy skys slowly giving way to some sun. This must be Wisconsin Supposed to be rather cool for the next week so last fire isn't here yet.

Will be burning until this is gone. After that I don't feel like bringing up anymore wood, I'm done.

About 45 here now but suppose to be lows in the teens the next couple nights. Hope I get the stove back in operation before then. Wanted to replace door and window gaskets, what a pain in the arse. I couldn't get any of the screws out that held the glass in place, even after 2 days of pb blaster and heat, Had to drill them out. Need to get some self tappers tomorrow and put it back together. Going to be tapping into the Brass door now, hope I can get them out again in a few years.
