I hope she doesn't have what my family and I had. We were all sick with it, everyone but the dog. Started off with a cough and 3 weeks later, still have it. My wife has a strained rib from all the coughing. I haven't had a cold, let alone the flu for years. I'll be glad when we get into sustained warm temps.
Started the stove back up today about 2:30. It hasn't made it above 45 today and heading toward the 20's tonight. Then 60-70 for Easter. It's 75 in the upstairs living room.
It got pretty warm today, and a stiff wind brought things down quick when the sun disappeared. I will build a small fire before bed to keep the low 30's out. Maple & hickory likely........
It is still in the low 40's right now! Ended up with no snow or rain from the system that blew through Wisconsin yesterday.
Woke up this morning to all white covered outside (where ever we had bare spots on the lawn) and even the side roads were covered in white. By lunch time, the rain kicked in. Now, its switching back over to snow. The temp is doing a balancing act around freezing (go figure). I had to shovel the deck this morning and it was more like pushing a squeegee instead of a shovel! Very heavy!
50 now 70 yesterday No fire Supposed to snow tonite. These wacked out temp swings are gonna really jack with crops this year. Last time it was like this I can remember a killer frost middle of June.
I heard the term polar vortex on the news for the east for the next few days. Enjoy the burning boys! Snowed an inch or so overnight and now just above freezing. Snow in the Rockies doesnt make the news.... ever!
Although we hit the mid 50s today, temps will dip into the 30s overnight, and with the winds it will cool the house down quite a bit. Just added a few oak splits to the castine to keep it comfy.
cold rainy day- burned some pine, maple and oak to keep the chill at bay. Last fill was at 6 though. 75ºF should go overnite with an outside lo of 40º
Rainy, wet, and getting colder. 38 right now. Probably get a little snow overnight. Small rounds of Ash going in the boiler. It looks like there will be plenty of burning over the next week. Next Sunday and Monday look to be cold.
31 this morning, but weather channel says it feels like 21. Pallet Pete , I'm burnin Ash this mornin.
37° and clear two hours before sunrise. Suppose to be sunny today but setting up for three days of rain. Burning red elm and honey locust.
We had 26 this morning with 2-3 inches of fresh snow that won't last long, the next three days will be nice. We did start a nice Cherry fire this morning, should've had one last night.
Low 30s this morning High sustained winds off the lake yesterday afternoon to this morning. Some gusts reached 60mph. Wind chill was brutal. 60s next 2 days then 5 days of 30s March is going out like a lion me thinks. Mish mosh of crap from the bottom of the pile in wood room and coal. Lots of sawdust to sweep up to replenish the bucket of "girl scout" fire starter juice .
38 OAT 30 MPH wind.... ash and cherry loaded... we got an inch o5r so of slop which is now frozen... stove room is 62
