Supposed to get up into the 50's today with plenty of sun. Did NOT get a fire going this morning.

Extremely windy. The house is being battered by ice from the trees and the roof. Fun and games. Hope the ice is blown off the trees before the branches crack.

Dropped to 72º inside and hasn't made it above 40º outside. Still plenty of red coals from last night so I just took a few ashes out, cleaned the stove glass and have some uglies catching.

environment Canada has just posted a weather alert for a front from the North with snow and ice pellets, with the possibility of significant freezing rain between now and Sunday night. We are very windy now. Hopefully enough ice comes off the trees so they will be able to survive another ice storm, if it occurs, tomorrow...

Got about another 2/3 cord of splits for 18/19, I think, finished today in the balmy 57° weather. Kids were riding there bikes and doing sidewalk chalk......in the garage!!:picard:At least they were out of my hair so I could finally get something done on the woodpile. 46° headed for 34° for the overnight. That will be the high for tomorrow. 73° inside still from this mornings fire and some windows opened for some GREAT FEELING FRESH AIR! Have a small 5 split/chunky fire going just because. Its relaxing and just doesn't feel right having an EMPTY stove in February!

The "Dave cave" is sitting at a cool 60 since the kicker stove has not been lit for a couple days now. Wonder if it'll drop to 59 before I cave in...
Supposed to have gotten some snow overnight but it didn't land yet, I guess!

Yesterday was sunny with low 50's on car thermometer. Today will top out about 30, the back to winter for a few days.

47° outside and 77° inside from the red oak overnight, got 2 living room windows open right now to cool things down! I haven't even gotten through 2 cords of wood this year, I'll have plenty of wood to roll over to next year.

We were at 64º today outside, no fire after last night. Still hanging at 58º but supposed to have rain moving in after midnight and 30's by morning. I'll probably fire up before bed. Colder temps and possible snow as the week goes on.

Same here, ALL snow is completely melted now! It's going to be mild for the next couple of days so I'll just turn the thermostat on for now. Oil is cheap right now anyway so I'll save my firewood for the real cold.

    Dropping to 4 tomorrow night.
Starting tonight, winds will be 20-25. Tomorrow, 25-35 mph with 45 mph gusts. And some more snow tomorrow.
After tonight, overnights will be low singles.

With the wind and dropping temps tomorrow, I think I have a date with the kicker stove!

There's no sense in that! Oil is way more than wood!
