Well I'm in the south, and its not an ornamental planting.(we dont have scotch pines unless planted as ornamentals) This specifically is in north florida. A native tree. It is a southern yellow pine!! But that only narrows it to 4 trees(maybe 5 I dont remember if they classify virginia pins as SYP...pretty sure it is and then it would be 5). And no its not Lob.

The bark gives it away but usually only us wood geeks see that. More guesses?

    It's slash pine.

We don't have many southern members here. And of them ibam not sure how many could differentiate between ThE species anyway.

Right where I want to be.
Overnight last night was supposed to be about 8-10, but I awoke to zero, and the house was a little chilly at 64.
I didn't bother to turn on the DV, since the house was nice and warm when I went to bed and I had a nice load of wood in the stove.
I installed 6 small Oak rounds that lit off quickly, and the house temp warmed pretty quick.......so did the outside.
Only hitting 18 or so tonight.....maybe. Just loaded mostly Oak for the night. Should be about 68 in here tomorrow morning.

Plenty of coals, so I'll load a few splits for the day. Supposed to hit mid-40s today with a little sun.

31 this morning, headed for 55 today. 5 or 6 3" rounds of oak went in this morning to maintain the 71 inside until the sun comes around to the front window for some solar heat! Probably going to have some windows cracked open today! Might even find some time to process some rounds I cut last fall.....:hair:free time is at a premium with 3 little rascals running around!!
