We got about an inch of snow last night. The forecast for 3-6" got pushed back to yesterday afternoon through this afternoon. Just loaded (at 8am) 7 medium splits of Oak and Maple and I'm thinking that should last until mid-late afternoon. It's 22 going up to 30, then down to 8 tonight. 68 in the house at 7:30am.
It was 21 this morning, ashes out and a new load of Sugar & Red Maple in the Liberty. With this short cold snap coming in, I'm glad we saved all that dead Ironwood.
Low 30's today going to the single digits and negatives by the weekend filled the rack on the porch last night and stuck a couple ash and silver maple splits in the Lopi this am before work the Mrs. has probably got the windows open by now
22 here at 5 am.. loaded popular and elm.. Cold snap is coming for Thurs thru Sunday highs around 0 lows to minus 10 I'm usually 5 or so degree colder than forecast area. 2 inches white stuff on ground and light snow. Going to load sugar when cold hits best I got dry!
Working on my mix from a log load I got a while back mostly ash, cherry, silver maple, and a few pieces of sugar maple and white oak mixed in didn't have any locust or elm this year didn't have much chance to get out and get any
It was just below zero this morning with a fresh dusting of (about) 8"-9" snow....pronounced "more snow"! Left work early and got the fire started in the basement now. Maple, ash, maybe a stick of oak for later.
Spring is gone, winter's back got 3 inches of snow last night going to be a colder week and even colder weekend, forecast is 2 for Friday night - 1 for Saturday night. 29 now, got a load of ash cooking in the Repo. My dump trailer load of oak didn't come today because of the snow, the guy decided it would be better to haul the overloaded dump trailer when the roads are clear tomorrow, I don't blame him, it's not about pulling the trailer it's about getting it stopped, if some idiot does something stupid
we got a couple inches over night and it continues to flurry now. supposed to get colder tonight and tomorrow. the main course will be maple with a side of maple for good measure.there seems to be a trend with maple this year. i feel for you guys up north and east that are buried in snow and super cold. it just makes everyday life more difficult.
Had to go pickup my sister from the airport in Cleveland today and was gone longer than I expected as we made a few stops. Glad I put some locust in this morning because I had a nice coal bed, threw a few small splits of cherry and ash in then brought a couple days worth of wood in by the stove. Wood roastin' weather comin' going to have the Buck choochin on some oak and locust.
